The "What Are You Working On?" Thread

So, while I work on other mods like the spec racer who is getting polished physics by ARCH, me and aome friends are working on a totally different thing.. it is kind of an "imaginary" car, actually old southamerican cars that are tunned for racing. Physics will be somehow placeholder, and am planning making it a cooperative mod for the people, specially southamerica were we know this old guys and got tunned for racing. We conceive it as a imaginary southamerica category called GTS (Gran Turismo Sudamericano) but dont worry... Ill be back at real existing cars in a couple weeks :)

pd: I know for some of you, they may look weird, but it is commong in some countries here to seee things like that XD still, this is not a particular category, is like a mix of different categories and some fast and furious wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff

That would be awesome.

The following are two my personal favorites from the 1930s that are of a more reasonable length. These could be good projects:

1. ROOSEVELT RACEWAY - New York (USA) (the 1937 layout has been made for GPL, but I believe the 1936 layout [6.39km] has never been created for any sim).

Roosevelt looks interesting...looks like it could also be modernized as a "what if" layout without too much trouble too...

When you mentionned it was more of a test ground, i didn't imagine that at all. We have different definition of testing ground :D

Thanks for the feedback, although Nighteye will have to tell me how to fix the bridge structurally ...It's a testing ground in the sense that if it turned out bad, I didn't really care that much, (but it turned out quite well, so thats a bonus lol), plus its fictional so its flexible...instead of doing something on a particular project that makes me need to redo it when it's not achieving the result I was after, especially after getting quite a way into it

Is it close enough to warrant modelling it like that? Something I also wonder on certain buildings and details, but just doing it as textures seems better/easier most of the time...usually need to remind myself of that when I start getting carried away on the paddock side of a pit building...

Yeah, almost certainly, but I ran out of version numbers when I was making Feldbergring, so I have always erred on the side of caution since then.

I only really have vegetation to add, as well as final optimisation, so it's probably closer to v0.9 in those videos.
It's not uncommon to go further with 0.10, 0.11, etc :)
Looking good. Those trees man, they really uhm.. not sure how to say it xD love 'em!

I don't know yet, mostly just had fun modelling it. I recon, as that structure is visible from quite a distance from multiple parts of the tracks, the structure with its holes all over will work better visually as a full model than something simpler with an alpha_test texture. I may make a simple LOD for farther out.

Anyone know what to do about this weird wobbling when making really long tracks (around 40km this one) - some cars seem to be affected more than others?
I remember this happening before and I just abandoned a project altogether. But there must be a way around it if things like SRP are possible
Maybe splitting the track into smaller kn5 solves it?? or I could add a fictional hairpin and come back on myself using the mountains to create the illusion that it's still going in a straight line
