The end of summer is nearing and so is the end of Eric Kaczmarek's highly successful Super Enduro series, with the final Racing Club event scheduled for Saturday, September 5th @ Le Mans.

The announcement of the end of the series came as a shock to many, after this months race at Road America. The unique format of this RD Racing Club series has drawn much attention and created regular full starting grids, with forum threads reaching 60+ pages and 600+ posts!
The first round of this series came on Sunday, April 19th with the 400 km's of Spa and saw the first of a dominating series of wins by "the king", Joao Andias. 
This first round was run as more of an experiment - not even Eric could have imagined what a successful series he was about to create. It was a single class event using the GTP cars, to include the Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini add-ons.

The second round held at the famous Paul Ricard HTTT circuit on Saturday, May 16th saw the introduction of the multi-class format, commonly found in real world endurance racing. This event also set a new record with a race length of roughly 3.5 hrs / 100 laps. The longest race ever held within the GTR-Evolution Racing Club on RD to date. This event once again saw "the king", Joao Andias, exercise his dominance in the series with a well deserved win in the GT-Pro class.
After the successful round at Paul Ricard, the series moved on to the fabulous classic racetrack of Nürburg, Germany on Saturday, June 27th. The Super Enduro format once again saw some changes for this event with the introduction of weather forecasts and the abolishment of add-on cars, in order to insure a level playing field for all participants. The "Green Hell" once more saw "the king", Joao Andia, show his authority over the series and came through to take yet another race win in the GT-Pro class.
The last round of the series was held on American soil at the beautiful Wisconsin based circuit of Elkhart-Lake, Road America, on Saturday, August 1st. The original event had been scheduled for Saturday, July 25th with nearly 40 participants, but due to unforeseeable technical difficulties, the race was canceled and restarted at a later date with a 25 car strong grid.

Road America proved to be a very interesting event with "the king", Joao Andias, crashing out in the early stages of the race. A strong performance by newcomer Bruno Said saw him take the checkered for his first race win in the Super Enduro series GT-Pro class. After his absence at the previous round, Henrik Horvath came back with a dominating performance to take a flag to flag win in the GT-Sport class. His second class win in the series.

While I am sad to see the Super Enduro series come to a premature end, there is also some good news to be found - RD has formed it's first true endurance racing league thanks to the EnduRacers Modding Team, Endurance Series Mod for rFactor. RaceDepartment's Le Mans Series (RDLMS) is schedule for its official debut on Saturday, October 17th at a yet to be disclosed location.
