Over the last couple of months I have been working behind the scenes pruning, tweaking and refining the excellent Touring Car Legends mod into a league suitable multi-car mod with full permission from the original creators. The mod does not conflict in any way with existing TCL installs.

Some of the changes:

  • Brand new real sounds by Mirko Niemann and Domagoj Lovric (original mod used default rFactor sounds)
  • Performance adjustments
  • Elimination of any rFm or case-sensitive possible CTDs
  • 635 bug fix
  • Download size reduced by 75%
  • Easier in-game menu for car selection
  • 8 skins per car
  • 11 car models only
  • Upgrades now found as standard (gearboxes for M3 and 190E)
  • H-shifter upgrade added
  • File paths corrected
  • Menu music
  • Changed menu background
  • Loading screen
  • Intro video
  • More ambient sounds
  • More I have forgotten :D

Cars included in the mod and rough classification of attributes:

'Light' Cars:
Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo
BMW M3 E30
Mercedes 190E

'Balanced' Cars:
BMW 635CSi
Rover SD1 Vitesse
Volvo 240 Turbo
Ford Sierra RS500
Toyota Supra Turbo

'Power' Cars:
Holden Commodore VK
Ford Mustang GT
Nissan Skyline GT-R HR31

The mod will be tested in the Racing Club to test performance equality mainly, all cars in this mod will be available to select during these events.

IMPORTANT - before installing BETA 1.5 (if you have BETA 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4) you MUST delete the folder rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\RD TCL. Failure do so will result in issues.

just fooled around with a few cars on Toban run offs.... wow that was very fun. You have done a perfect job. only the important thing is left, also the handling of the cars ive tried seems very good. Gonna be some interesting races ahead :thumbup:

off to drive some more TM...

and awesome music :cool:

Ryan, does this mod show up separately in the game? Does it interfere or modify the original TCL mod?

Reason for asking is that some people may be racing the original TCL mod with other Leagues and won't want their original mod changed.

I assume it is totally separate, but just checking to be sure before installing.

Very nice! Could you please include a nodelay-gearshift upgrade for us h-pattern shifters? ( code below stolen from caterham-mod)

Code:
UpgradeType="Shifter Style"
{

  UpgradeLevel="Sequential or Paddles"
  {
    Description="Shifting properties designed to mimic the gated shifter of the real car."
  }

  UpgradeLevel="Gated Shifter"
  {
    Description="Shifting properties are realistic for Gated or H-shifters, disabling the shift and clutch timing values. Not suitable for paddles or a sequential stick!"

    HDV=[DRIVELINE]
    HDV=UpshiftDelay=0.0
    HDV=UpshiftClutchTime=0.0
    HDV=DownshiftDelay=0.0
    HDV=DownshiftClutchTime=0.0
    HDV=DownshiftBlipThrottle=0.0
  }
}

Thanks Tobias - I will include this in the release after 1.2.

On that note the 1.2 patch is released - Download

Changes:

Adjusted sfx files (more sound refinement, thanks to SBELLOF)
New Mustang engine sounds (thanks to SBELLOF)
New tyre scrub sounds (thanks to SBELLOF)

Adjusted Skyline, Rover, Mustang and Supra weight (perfomance balancing)
Adjusted all engine files aside from Mustang, Rover and TWR (removal of adjustable rev limit)
Adjusted all upshift delays aside from Skyline, Mustang and TWR (small adjustment)

Adjusted Skyline name (R-31 to HR-31)
Swapped RS500 #6 Soper to #7 Ludwig/Niedzwiedz (more (in)famous livery)
The 1.2 full version is being uploaded also.

It seems to have helped a hell of a lot - I'm not sure it is totally cured tbh. It may need leaving out in the final release, which would be a shame.

On another note - the full 1.2 version is now live. Final release of the mod is scheduled for April 19th, this will continue to be updated till then. See top post for 1.2 full download.

Keep my fingers crossed for the big beemer. ;) We'll have to finish our spring season, and take this mod under consideration for the autumn-season. So, no rush for us.
