Over the last couple of months I have been working behind the scenes pruning, tweaking and refining the excellent Touring Car Legends mod into a league suitable multi-car mod with full permission from the original creators. The mod does not conflict in any way with existing TCL installs.

Some of the changes:

  • Brand new real sounds by Mirko Niemann and Domagoj Lovric (original mod used default rFactor sounds)
  • Performance adjustments
  • Elimination of any rFm or case-sensitive possible CTDs
  • 635 bug fix
  • Download size reduced by 75%
  • Easier in-game menu for car selection
  • 8 skins per car
  • 11 car models only
  • Upgrades now found as standard (gearboxes for M3 and 190E)
  • H-shifter upgrade added
  • File paths corrected
  • Menu music
  • Changed menu background
  • Loading screen
  • Intro video
  • More ambient sounds
  • More I have forgotten :D

Cars included in the mod and rough classification of attributes:

'Light' Cars:
Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo
BMW M3 E30
Mercedes 190E

'Balanced' Cars:
BMW 635CSi
Rover SD1 Vitesse
Volvo 240 Turbo
Ford Sierra RS500
Toyota Supra Turbo

'Power' Cars:
Holden Commodore VK
Ford Mustang GT
Nissan Skyline GT-R HR31

The mod will be tested in the Racing Club to test performance equality mainly, all cars in this mod will be available to select during these events.

IMPORTANT - before installing BETA 1.5 (if you have BETA 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4) you MUST delete the folder rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\RD TCL. Failure do so will result in issues.

I'm really surprised you dont have the Toyota Levin in the light cars as that is one of the best light cars in the original mod. Could you have a look into it, as that is the a really nice car to drive and can beat the faster cars around some twisty aussie tracks like winton, and is right up there at oran park.

I have to say, i like this tweaked version.

The sounds are nice and the cars drive well (the RS500 seems abit easier than before though).

Have you altered the damage modelling aswell? Because it would seem the bumpers dont want to detach from the car, and i`m pretty sure they did on the original (i`m sure someone will correct if i'm wrong).

So far i`ve tried the RS500, Vitesse, 190E and the BMW 635 and they all worked well with realfeel, with some setting adjustments.

In regards to the post above......what other cars have been removed?

The damage models have not been touched - maybe you're not crashing hard enough :D - I don't ever remember the bumpers falling off myself though. The reason for the RS500 being easier to drive is because it has the DTM restricted turbo engine installed, rather than the full works (369bhp rather than 473).

This mod (like the original TCL) is actually not very compatible with RealFeel, but if you've got it working then ok :).

Cars left out were: the Corolla Levin, Corolla Coupe, Sierra Cosworth (kinda irrelevant), Escort RS 1600, Escort RS Turbo, Commodore VK, Commodore VL (non-TWR), Mercedes Cup.

In reference to the Corolla Levin question - drive the big cars well and really it has absolutely no chance. You have to remember this mod is designed for league purposes and not intended as a rehashing of the TCL mod as a whole.

I drove the levin in a league race against all the cars, and i was able to beat the faster cars, as its very nible and able to keep the power on longer. That said it was a twisty track, on other tracks yeah it has no chance. But its quiker then the escort for example, as that just understeers everywhere, lol. Or is it im use to controlling the car slightly sideways.

This mod (like the original TCL) is actually not very compatible with RealFeel, but if you've got it working then ok :).

I've got it setup this way, feels pretty good. It's a combination of RealFeel/default FFB mix. Default ffb parameters adjusted to educated-guess realistic values (for example, the most obvious one, force calulated only from front tires).

In RealFeelPlugin.ini per car, FFBMixerRealFeelPercent= set to 50%.

In Controller.ini file ffb paramters as follows:

Code:
FFB steer force max change="100.00000"
FFB steer force neutral range="0.00000"
FFB steer force neutral function="0.00000"
FFB steer force exponent="0.80000" //Could be tuned some more, if you want force to rise less abruptly off the central position
FFB steer force input max="-11500.00000"
FFB steer force output max="1.20000"
FFB steer force grip function="1.00000"
FFB steer force grip weight="0.25000" //this one controlles "how much" you feel understeer
FFB steer force grip factor="1.00000"
FFB steer front grip fract="0.00000"
FFB steer update threshold="0.00000"
FFB steer friction coefficient="0.00000" // these Friction & Damper forces are equal to those found in Logitech profiler "Spring effect" & "Damper effect". yes, those that everyone recommends to be set to ZERO. Thats why i also removed those. This is of course my preference. You may like it different.
FFB steer friction saturation="1.00000"
FFB steer damper coefficient="0.00000"
FFB steer damper saturation="1.00000"

So anyone willing, try it, this is just an attempt to correct incorect behaviour with real feel, but without losing it completely.
