Susie Wolff to test for Williams at Barcelona

Susie Wolff will be part of Williams’ driver lineup for the upcoming test at Barcelona starting on Thursday.

The 32 year-old became the first woman to take part in an F1 weekend for more than twenty years in 2014, and her role within the Grove squad has been expanded to test driver alongside Alex Lynn for 2015, supporting regular drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa.

This will include two test days and more Friday practice runs on race weekends, but also means she’ll be the first one to drive the new FW37 round the Circuit de Catalunya on Thursday. Bottas will then take over the car on Friday, followed by Massa on the Saturday, and then on Sunday both race drivers share testing duties for the last day.

The team’s schedule for the third and final pre-season test, also at Barcelona, is yet to be confirmed.

Unless Bottas leaves it's highly unlikely that she'll get to race the car. Massa
is probably gonna retire at Williams.

I don't care if she's as slow as Christmas. Teach Bottas' girlfriend how to drive and get Susie in the other car and I'll watch Williams all day.

F1 really needs to get some females though. It's not like they can't drive. Hell, the U.S. Air Force says they make better fighter pilots than men because they have quicker reaction times. (Why you see so many successful ones in drag racing). I thought Simona really had a chance. F1's loss, IndyCar's gain....again.

even though she's quick, she secures most of the impartial to female sponsor $ so the next gen can just save up and wait their turn.. progress is the term.

Do you mean "partial" to female sponsors? Because, in actual practice, at least in the U.S., companies fall all over themselves to sponsor females, since there are so many products that are unique to them. And, coupled with the fact that they do most of the buying.
