Welcome to our Car Setup section for RBR.

This Sub-Forum is to used for posting setups for cars, or posting general setup / tuning information. We encourage all Rally Club or RDRC Drivers to share their setups to help develop and grow our Rally Community.

A few overall guidelines for posting setups:

1. Please post saved setups as .lsp files, or zipped .lsp files. Post these files as attachments to your setup thread.
You may post setup changes in description format if you wish.

2. In the Title, please specify Car Type (including RSRBR Car Pack); Surface Type (Gravel, Snow, etc); Stage (if specific); and Weather (if applicable).

EXAMPLE: A8W-08 Subaru S14 , Gravel, Bumpy (Harwood Forest, Noiker), Wet.

3. Please include any additional helpful information as a description in your setup thread.

4. Racedepartment will only allow setups that have been made from within the In-Game Setup Option. Any "externally" modded setups will be considered cheating, and will be removed.

Installing a saved / posted setup file in RBR is slightly different to the usual SimRacing games, but is quite easy if you follow strict guidelines. This tutorial explains those guidelines, but is based on the RSRBR Mod. (It should also be applicable to the base Richard Burns Rally game).

1. All RBR car setup files are saved under Richard Burns Rally/SavedGames. Specific car setups are found under "RSRBR Car Class_Surface Type" eg. A8W-08_Snow, or A8W-08_Normal.

(Please note: A8W-08_Gravel would refer to the Gravel Mod, A8W-08_Snow refers to the Snow Mod. If the default surface is Gravel or Snow, it will be located under A8W-08_Normal).

2. Setup files are saved as .lsp files, and specify the Car No. and Slot No. as an essential part of the naming. eg. 5slot2_RS200 Gravel.lsp

The 5 refers to the Car No. (in the RSRBR Car Pack); slot 2 refers to which setup slot it will appear in-game. The description after the _ can be your own setup description.

The car number is critical and must not be changed. The slot number may be changed if you want to see the setup in a different slot (see point 4.).

3. To install a downloaded setup file, simply copy the .lsp file to the appropriate SavedGames folder. Be very careful to select the correct folder.

4. If the poster has used a slot number that you already have used eg. 5slot1 , then you may not see one of the two setups. To avoid this, rename the file to a slot number not currently used eg. 5slot3 and you will see it under slot 3 in-game.

5. Thats it. You should then be able to enter the setup option via the Tune Car menu, select Load Settings, select the saved setup, Load, Yes, OK. If you want, you can then look at the setup details. Then hit Esc to go back to the Drive Stage option.

Please Note: If you are saving a setup file after testing/adjusting, it will not be saved until you exit from RBR.

Here is a rough setup I have done for the Ford RS200 on Normal Gravel.
It seems fairly stable, but I've not tested it a lot. It use long gears which I suspect is needed for most Stages, but feel free to try lower gearing. This has the Steering Lock matched to my G25 Rotation of 480deg., so you may need to adjust this to suit individual Controllers and to your preferred respose.

Here is a reasonable setup for the Lancer Evo 6.5 on Tarmac and the Monte Carlo Mod.
This was for my G25 with 480 deg Rotation. Reduce the Steering Lock if you use a different controller or lower Rotation.
Maybe adjust the Gear Range depending on the Stage.

Hi,
I've drafted an Excel sheet that you can enter your settings. I find it easier for transferring them to different cars and for comparing different settings for different conditions. You may want to duplicate the box columns across so you could try/compare dry, wet, snow mods etc.

If you haven't got Excel you can find Excel Readers out there on the web,

Enjoy,

Pete

Hey guys here are a few car setups for the Evo 6.5, specifcly made for the Tommi Makinen Tribute rally.

the setups are for the 3 tarmac stages of this event and are as follows

=Stage settings=============setup name=
=(Monte Carlo mod)Joux Plane II== EvoMCJP=
=(Normal)Bisanne ============Evo Bis=
=(Normal)Joux Verte II (Damp) ===Evo JV2=

all setups are different but all have the default steering lock of (504) i think and a brake bias of (75/25) from memory and you may want to change these to suit your driving and wheel settings!

Thats kinda funny, i went and downloaded the file i uploaded and found a funny error.
seems the file which was a zip file became renamed and zipped into another file!

anyone having troubles with the downloaded zip follow these instructions...

1) extract the file

2) rename the file by adding .zip at the end

3) open the new zip file and extract the folders containing the setup files inside.

well hope that helps anyone having issues with it!
