On this site they say there is a STCC game coming. RACE 07 + STCC as a game or only STCC as expansion pack.

Sounds very interesting. Let it be true :)

STCC Game

STCC AB and SimBin Studios AB will release the racing game STCC – The Game on PC this year with all the cars and tracks from this years STCC season. The game will be available both as a stand alone game and as an expansion pack for RACE 07 owners.

“STCC will be a year-round-sport when we finally can drive on our Swedish circuits with our Swedish teams. To create a game with SimBin, who is one of the world’s leading developers of racing games, makes it possible for us to create a virtual representation of STCC that will be incredibly close to it’s real life equivalent, Bob Huzell said, CEO of STCC AB.”

SimBin has under the spring visited all circuits and all test days collecting information and the game is currently in full production, with a continued documentation of the cars taking place on Knutstorp this weekend under the STCC premiere.

“To recreate many of the circuits that I’ve drove myself in my career as a racing driver and which I still thinks are among the funniest after many seasons in international racing has been a dream since 2003 when I founded SimBin, Henrik Roos said, CEO of SimBin Studios. And to make this in cooperation with STCC and their professional concept only makes it even better, Roos continued”

Simbin will be at Knutstorp this weekend with their big simulator park with fifteen simulators in use that will be test driven prior to the season. The goal is to also let spectators drive an early version of the Knutstorp track.

I remember having a STCC game years ago made by Dice i think?,me and an old fragging clan buddy even joined an all Swedish league to race in as well, aaah happy days, looking forward to more STCC fun in the near future! :thumb: :jumping: .

Knutstorp baby :D I have seen that track in real life and there is one corner in particular that is a blast to take.

Maybe Rickard Javanainen can tell us a bit more since he has been driving there in real life during the Junior STCC

I think ill switch my old seat for new shining volvo.STCC contains the same cars as WTCC +volvo c30 and Peugeot 308 am i wright???

I can say you will LOVE Knutstorp and Gotenburg.
Knutstorp is the smallest of the "Roller Coaster" tracks wich are Knutstorp,Donington,Spa and the Nordschlife.
And Bram, I suppose you mean the Micro Hill, Its fast, hidden , bumpy and it is EASY to lose the rear at the exit xD.

I raced the Gotenburg street circuit two weeks ago and that track is sick, it is like a normal road course with walls and breathtaking chicanes.

Oh **** i forgot you Richard. You drive those Junior series as well. Can you give us some more insights about your experiences so far in the STCC and its tracks?

Thanks bud

Wow that is what i call a pitstop! Djeez that crew is fast. (why are they only changing the left side of the car btw:D) But as far as i know in the real STCC a pitstop is mandatory right?

Pitstop is indeed mandatory and they have to change 2 wheels during it.
Depending on wear they change the desired tires as far as I know.

I have watched the first 4 round now from STCC. The tracks are very cool, all very short and twisty. No time to rest. The racing format itself is less attracting. Its only 1 race which is just too long. I prefer the medium distance 3 race format like in BTCC.
Also they don't know how to show action. Very often onboard camera's are enabled showing absolutely nothing special. They show it often with picture and picture (onboard and normal tv cam). The normal tv cam is then full of action but because so small hard to see.
Commentary is of course unknown to me in Swedish, but it just sounds dull. You hardly notice any difference in speaking before or during the racestarts.

In terms of touring car enjoyment to watch is now this for me:
WTCC -> STCC -> BTCC (BTCC is a giant step ahead in terms of spectaculair racing; except Brno, WTCC is boring to watch in 2008 so far)

The STCC Game/expansion/whatever will be cool. New cars, new very cool tracks. Hope they will balance the cars with the WTCC to have mixed class racing with it.

yep i can. I dont think Rickard is that active at this forum anymore...

Okey well then. The tracks in the STCC is all really nice tracks even if they are not in the size of brands, O-Leben... But they are still cool.

The most special tracks in the series i think is Sturup and Gotenburg.

Sturup, Located in southern Sweden is a short and VERY narrow track wich offers "jumps" (at least with the STCC cars), Hardcore attack on the rumblestrips and a very low gear ratio (I think the Porsche Carerra Cup cars have about 160 km/h (100 mph) at the start/finish straight.
Here is the video i used to practice before the race:

Gotenburg is like a road corse with walls. At "normal" city tracks the road is like this /\ so the water have somewhere to go. But the Gotenburg circuit is completely flat -> __ like a real racetrack.
Another cool thing about this circuit is the fast chicanes, one misstake and you will end up in BIG pain. Really scary the first few laps actually.
Gotenburg:
The rest of the tracks Mantorp, Falkenberg, Gellerasen, Valer is Nice tracks also but they are more or less ordinary tracks witch still is huge fun but normal...

Well, Falkenberg have to be pretty special too :p Is it still fastest track in Sweden Richard? I hope they will include a version of the old Falkenberg :)
Yes it surely is but it isn't still such a hype as Sturup and Gotenburg but yes, It is a pretty special track to, You need nervs of steel in the penutlimate bend.

Here is a crash from the 2006 edition of the falkenberg race in JTCC:
