STC, the teams: Positive Sim Racing

Founder: Javier Álvarez

Country: Spain

Positive SimRacing is a team with a very short history, but already with significant milestones. On September 12, 2012, Javier Álvarez decided to create Positive SimRacing, in order to participate in the Championship of Formula SimRacing. The objective then was facing the 2013 season with possibilities. On September 13th, 2013 the announcement of the establishment of the team is published in the Forum of Formula SimRacing and reveals the strategy of having team on track already in 2012 because 'the best way to learn is getting involved'. In only 2 weeks, the team is ready to participate in the last 4 races of the World Trophy season, incorporating the Australian driver Jackson Wendt. In parallel, Hunter Manley proposed the expansion of the team into iRacing and then, the team opens a division in iRacing with Hunter Manley as a driver and Technical Director.

The first races are difficult for the team, but Positive SimRacing passes systematically the prequalifying sessions and has two cars on track, finishing close of the top 10 in almost all of them. But simultaneously the equipment is consolidated by signing agreements with private companies (ProDriver Sim, EC Sim Hardware, Mightygate and Novoa Designs) and completes a structure builded on the experience of Spanish competitions (F1Total, F1 puerto,F1 and F1 Champs).

On November 20th, 2012 Positive SimRacing acquires the permanent license for the World Championship of Formula SimRacing, the maximum category of the Sim Racing world. Such license belonged until then to the GT Omega Racing team. The evolution of Positive SimRacing is boosted with a series of agreements that include several of the best drivers in Spain and an extraordinary group of drivers from all over the world, with Marcel van der Linden at the head, with his experience in the World Championship.

While preparing the 2013 season, two teams participate in the unofficial Winter Series, where on January 5th, 2013, Kevin Siggy achieves the first pole position and Neil Debacquer achieves the first victory for Positive SimRacing.

In February 2013, the iRacing Division is launched thanks to the addition of Kevin Oliver Adam as Manager of this Division of Positive SimRacing. The Team is licensed in the RD STC Blue Cup and also in the Spanish iRacing championship of MundoGT.es.
