STC comes back in 2013 sponsored by rSeat

Vince Lombardi once said “Individual commitment to a group effort- that is what makes teamwork”. RaceDepartment’s SimRacing Team Challenge (STC) is back, and it signals a return to the fundamental concept of success, teamwork. Motorsport can accurately be categorised as a team sport. Sadly, it’s an element that was somewhat lost in online racing. In most real-life disciplines, drivers compete individually, but equally race to gain points for, and raise the profile of their team. The STC takes this concept a step further, as drivers solely compete on behalf of the team with no individual championship. Want to experience the “team” atmosphere of motorsport? Want to feel the satisfaction of putting the team first? If so, the SimRacing Team Challenge is for you.

With the simracing cockpits manufacturer rSeat as main sponsor, the STC is switching to the iRacing platform after using Race07 for previous seasons. The McLaren MP4-12C GT3 is an incredibly powerful, twin turbo V8 rocket that will power you through the season. The high down force, fire breathing McLaren provides the base for the single make series with a level platform for all drivers, free of discrepancies in power and performance. The team with the hardest working and composed drivers will take the title. Success in this series will be achieved through commitment to making a stable setup and preparing a sound race plan with your team. This is what team competition is all about.

The SimRacing Teams Challenge will provide many fantastic features designed to make the league as realistic as possible, and provide the best possible experience for drivers and spectators. We have real-life marshalling implemented for the series, meaning that penalties can be applied if necessary during the race if reported by the team manager, as is the case in real life motorsport. A professional, high quality broadcast will also be provided and will guarantee your team exposure with the eyes of the sim-racing world watching. Furthermore, STC’s major sponsor rSeat will provide fantastic prizes for the competitors, proving that it isn’t just pride at stake.

Prices won't dissapoint anybody as you can check on the rSeat STC official website, where you can also find all the information about the participants we will be introducing during the following weeks until the start of the competition.

Coming up next month will be the commencement of the “Blue Cup” which is raced from March through until June. Later in 2013 the “Black Cup” will be held and is generally conducted from September through to December. Both seasons consist of six exciting rounds, with varying race lengths between 45 and 90 minutes. Individual drivers representing a team are only allowed to compete in three races per season, so a team of 4-12 drivers is necessary to ensure this regulation is upheld. Be sure to keep an eye out for the sign in period whereby teams can acquire their license if you want to get involved in this premium quality league, and visit the Sim Racing Team Challenge section of our forums for further information. Be ready to have some fun, get ready to race and let your teamwork do the talking!
