The first round of the 2019 SRO E-Sport GT Series kicks off this weekend at the opening round of the Blancpain GT Series in Monza.

Sim racers and motorsport enthusiasts have their first opportunity to enjoy the new Assetto Corsa Competizione racing simulation in a competitive eSport racing environment this week, as the opening round of the 2019 SRO E-Sport GT Series is set to take place at the Monza Grand Prix circuit on the weekend of Saturday 13th to Sunday 14th April.

Making use of the close links between ACC developers Kunos Simulazioni and the Stephane Ratel Organisation (SRO), the new series will be the official eSport category of the hugely popular Blancpain GT Series. Round One will take place on site at the iconic Monza circuit, and looks set to field a mix of professional esport racers alongside home-grown talent from the series online qualification programme, mixing it on the grid with a selection of qualifying drivers who have set competitive times at the on-site esports game park.

Each category (PRO, Silver, AM) will take part in their own broadcasted race, with the top four from each class taking to the field in a final battle for overall Round One honours - with the winners taking to the real Blancpain GT Series podium! At Monza!

If you don't make the fast 12 during the Silver qualification process, but still fancy your chances of a place in the final, why not head over to Monza and try your hand in the AM qualifiers on site? If you place top 50 in Silver, you've certainly got the pace to stand a very good chance of taking home some serious results at the track. Even if you aren't in the top 50, any driver at the Monza circuit is welcome to try their hand at securing a place in the AM race, for a chance to battle your way to the open round final against the top four finishing PRO and Silver drivers on site.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is shaping up to be one of the most complete and in-depth racing simulations of the modern era, and coupling this with a professionally run on-site eSport racing series with the might of the Blancpain GT Series behind it, this coming weekend should prove to be as spectacular on the virtual circuit as it is out on the real tarmac...

OMG!!!! Blancpain GT Series, F1 GP and SRO E-Sport GT Series, Same Weekend. And same weekend I'll be boarding a Cruise in Miami:confused::confused:, I don't think I'll have internet in the middle of the Sea! :cry:Losing all 3 events at once is sad:unsure:!!

Just for clarification, the eSport series will go on with the early access version? Or will it be an official release before the weekend?

Just trying to understand, thks.

..and MotoGP, and Superbike too..

I'd love to be in Monza for all this, must be very cool to both compete in ACC live and then see the real cars and the race.

Connecting a real-world racing series with the fully licensed game, on the real world circuit, this has to be some of the coolest crossover to ever happen in gaming. Massively cool move by Kunos to get this set up.

agree
now if we could just tweak the game to allow the full 49 car grid in endurance races …
but 33 in offline is pretty impressive as it stands, here's hoping the online will move past the 24 we now have later this year.
