okies... no more signing up required.... we've tons of room - so if you turn up and you want in... just jump on the server.... remember qually sessions are closed due to superpole.... in a bit....

I never bothered doing a qualify run because i'm thinking about starting last anyway.

Do I understand you right, you intent not to qualify and start from last position? Please, don't do this. Lets have a real race, saltet with some uncetainty about the best pit strategie. I think we are at a similar level. It's also a bit dangerous, for you and the drivers who are not so common with the F3000. Break points and cornering speed are very different and hard to predict.

I'm still using default setupwith some minor changes...

IMO you definitely have to take less wing (especially at the rear end) than the default setup has.

Was enjoying the race and doing ok for my first f3000 race, managed to get lapped on lap 12 by the flying Niklas (remind me not to join the same race as him, lol) then decided to push a little bit harder into final turn and............BANG!! hit the wall, wheels off, car smashed and 3 months in hospital with broken headphones after smashing them to the floor.

Oh well we live and learn.

Thanks Eric and RD.

Qualified in 4'th
Made a bad start (again) and was 6’th after first corners
Hade some nice fighting for about 10 laps before I finally could take back “my” 4’th place
Had my pit stop after 22 laps, but I didn’t se the speed limit line clear enough and managed to get a stop and go for speeding.
Exiting in 5’th after the stop and go was taken and managed to get back into 4’th before finish.

If I hadn’t messed it up I would have had the 3’d spot….:disapointed: but it was really funny and challenging anyhow:good:

Thanks all:wink2:

Well, it was rather interesting. I have to say thank you to Tim Miller for suggesting the track (never been there before and LOVED it). I also found the F3000 cars soooo fun to drive (even if I suck more than usual with them).

A small note… the “race” started (the practice) about 7 min. earlier (8.53 GMT) then the appointed time, wish I think isn’t fair for everyone (I was there 1 hr earlier so it wasn’t a problem for me).

I wondered why everyone had already posted qualy times when I joined about the scheduled Qualy time.
All that was needed was for someone to initiate a vote (or two) during Practice to allign the correct starting times. Just because Cam or I wasn't there, doesn't mean someone else couldn't do that guys.

@Mike Lee, can you please change your in-game name to your real name, Rolo will not be accepted for future races on the RD Servers.

Well, Niklas pulled away from the start (mine was not so bad either), took the lead (I was 2nd then) and continously increased the gap. Initially I had planed it the other way round, taking only 60 litres of fuel having a 2 stop strategy in my mind. After some laps it got clear - this was a bad decision. Not that I had any chance to keep up with Niklas, but also the gap to Marcel and Jan did not grow big enough.

So I decided to switch to a 1 stop and took 120 litres of fuel during my first (and only) pit stop with 40 minutes to go. Now my lap times got even worse. I realy should have done some practice and setup work with more fuel on board. I propably also messed up my setup a bit. I wanted to make the car a bit less agressive at the rear but the only thing I got was understeer in the long turns and the oversteer under power did not go away.

After all pit stops where done and the field was sorted I found myself aprox. 30 seconds behind Niklas. Then he waited for me and we had some fun together - until he decided to leave me alone and take his well deserved win.

Thx to RD and Eric!!!
