I prefer the first style, especially if you use machining for the column profiles. It will be stronger. Furthermore, you can add additional brackets or connection plates to reinforce it even more.

These are nice! I've been drilling and tapping profile when a 90 degree corner is required.

One is seq. shifter , second is hanbrake with push button for now. ( will make with proximity switch, soon ) And third is handbrake with hall sensor 0-100%, from china.

Dont mind for extra things.

Ther is always room for new staff. Next is 4 bass shakers, waiting them to arrive.

hello to all, after some modification here is what my space dedicated to simracing looks like today, everything was done by myself, nothing exceptional, but I like this quiet little corner to ride.

Made the jump to the good stuff, the wood couldn't handle the direct drive. I designed everything myself in MayCAD, saved me about 110€ compared to the Simlab GT1 Evo and its built to my needs. I am very happy with the result, I think I will add wheels to it so it doesn't scratch the floor when moving it and maybe a button box.

Here is how it looked before.
PS: if anyone has tips for mounting the wheels I'm all ears

I was able to mount six 3-in diameter 200-lb each capacity "in-line skate" type casters on my profile rig using hex bolts from below in the T-slots securing the integral caster plates with T-nuts. If you look closely at the last image with the profile end cap removed you can see the T-nut.

The casters are from China and sourced in the U.S. from retailer Harbor Freight. They were approx $5-6 each, and sales of up to 30% off items under $10 off are frequent. Free-spinning and locking versions are available.

This mounting method should work great with either fractional (1.5-in) or metric (40mm) aluminum profiles.

Please note, the photos with the visible mounting hardware on the bottom shows a hex bolt / lock nut combination on a different type of aluminium extrusion (ATI) used for a monitor stand but should give you an idea. The full rig is too heavy to lift for a photo on the 1515-series 80/20 profiles.

Great rig! Where did you get the keyboard tray? I’ve been struggling to find a double-hinged solution I’m happy with.
