Share your VR graphic settings

Hi Andrew, I'm enjoying your settings with my 1080ti and G2, good job! While I can play fairly good with 90hz, I still want to have a solid 60fps experience. But I have a problem with mirrors in the car, they got a strange lag: which setting I need to modify?

Plus, do I have to disable reprojection or/and motion smoothing on SteamVR?

Resolution multiplier must be at 50% (1588x1548), right?

Thanks a lot.

You can use either forced reprojection or 60hz mode, depends which you prefer. 90hz/90fps is ideal but not achievable with good visuals on 1080ti. I personally prefer smoother constant 60hz mode over occasionally tripping reprojection, but some people can't adjust to 60hz mode faint flickering.

I've tried the contact shadows now and as @Andrew_WOT says they really are a bit rubbish in VR. They give some strange effects and are grainy, clipping in and out of surfaces, look worse than 2 generations ago.

Why they can't just give a fake static AO type drop shadow on the bottom of the car I don't know. It would give a big performance increase as you wouldn't need AO on to stop the floating car effect, can have shadows on lower settings, etc.

@Andrew_WOT - Something I've found whilst fiddling with settings again is that in the WMR For Steam VR Settings panel, in Graphics, forcing DX11 mode gives me an extra ~10% performance improvement in ACC. Slightly lower quality in the SteamVR launching area on the floor grid.

That's enough to run the G2 in SteamVR at 100% res, ACC res scale at 85% PD at 100%, Ultra shadows, AO on, high PP, textures etc. 60hz. (On a 3090)

For DX12, I have read that idisabling it helps in reprojection scenaios with GPU bound system as it shifts calculations to CPU. Or may be the other way around. LOL.

I've tried with AC before, seen no difference. Will try again with ACC, thanks for heads up.

Have done some testing in ACC with DX12 disabled/enabled. Well, with support disabled I've got 0.5ms worse GPU frametime and things got slightly blurrier, esp. noticeable at mid/far distances.
This is 1080Ti, may be Pascal works differently, a lot of weird things happen with Ampere these days.

Yeah I was going to say this may be something related to the stutter bug. If it's reducing stuttering that could be where the overall perf inc is for me.

I everyone! i'm quite new in the VR world.
my system is a B550 MEG, 5600x, 64Gb Ballistix, 3080 Gigabyte oc.
I'll like to optimize Rift-S for ACC, can somebody pls share a configuration ?
Is correct to supersample just in Oculus sw or Oculus tray tool, or just in Steam VR, or just direct in the game? I see a lot of people do multiple SS, that make sense (doing multiple setup in different sw)?
Do you think i can reach stable 80 fps during online race session?

Post my actual sw setups

bench: have a 1870x2016 equivalent resolution@80Hz/fps solid stable from turn 2 of every track

Tnx in advance

The floating should be pretty much non existent with Shadows quality on Epic and AO enabled (it's disabled in my engine.ini), you can remove from there and use PostProcessing Effects Quality to control it instead.

Ahhhh, I'll remove the line in engine.ini and see how I get on, thanks.

I removed the enine.ini file but it was in a different location to the one in the readme file. I can't find where the original engine.ini file is, any thoughts as to what is happening? File was in Users>Home>AppData>Local>AC2>Saved>Config>WindowsNoEditor
