SERVERS 0/1?

I made a mention of this somewhere else on the forum but...

Ever since upgrading to 1,3 I often get no servers showing up in the browser. SERVERS 0/1 it says.

Odd because I get the same thing on 1,2 now. Anyone experiencing the same thing?

I have to shut down Netkar and relaunch a bunch of times before I see any servers, even tried rebooting windows, sometimes it works sometimes not.

Weird...

Other games work fine, servers show up right away.

Welcome to the 0/1 club Andi!

Wish I could help somehow but I still have the problem myself.

If you know the IP of the server you want to connect to you can do it manually. That's what I have to do for the time being.

It would be interesting to know if someone is going to write an external Netkar server client?

I am getting this issue as well. Sometimes it resets and shows 58 servers but mostly it just shows 0/1 the whole time. Pretty damn annoying. I had hoped NetKar would be easy to set up a private server on but so far I have not beena able to get online with my buddy to have a mess about.

Turned off my firewall and it seems to have gone away for now.....

Weird server time issues

Has anyone who is hosting races seen behaviour where the time left in the session is completely screwed up? I have had the server configured to have a 5 minute practice session, and then in-game it says there are 25 minutes left in the top left corner of the screen. Then we had a qualify session where it was saying "890 seconds to go" in the chat window, like it usually does in the wait time before a race session, but this was qually. We had several sudden server crashes with everyone losing connection, even though the server was still actually running.

Looking in the server log files, the timestamps are screwed, look at these negative times:

This was one of the times when everyone disappeared and lost connection.

The only thing that was a little unusual about the server config was that I had a custom grid with specific drivers in it, and not all of the drivers showed up. I don't know if that made any difference or not.

Has anyone got any idea what could be causing this?

Yeah, I've posted there as well. One thing I have changed is to lower the bandwidth setting in the server config - it might have been too high.

The server window in the game is showing 0/1 servers for everyone right now. Hopefully this will be corrected soon.

I'm seeing 8 but all bar one in Italy are southern hemisphere.....

Edit: On the Driving Italia forums someone has posted saying there was a fire in italy affecting several server centres.

Yes, I'm using the server tool. It might be because the server is running on a virtual host. We are trying the server on physical hardware and we'll see if it has the same problems - initial testing has been better. I'll update this with what we find.
