SEASON 10 Race 8 BARCELONA RACE REPORT

Q. Good lap with a not so good s3 though, p3 better than usual.

R: Catastrophic race. Maybe my worst league race so far considering that it was all my own doing.
Ran in an ok position (p4) until rain started which I liked and also stayed in p4, then the sillyness begun.
First I spun into a barrier damaging my frontwing and my suspension, also missed the pit-entry and had to crawl another lap with the wasted car -.-
When I made it to the pits I forgot to select the fuel-setting and did not fuel up accidentaly + repairs took forever obviously -.-

Was so pissed off about all this that my driving later was also kinda silly, including some ceratin moments when I got of into the icy grass 2 times right after lapping Bob Oo
So he could witness all this slapstick from the front row

With the rain shortening the race by a couple of laps, I shortshifted into the finish, instead of quickly going to the pits for the rest of the fuel, as I was the last one in the leaders lap, so I crawled the car over the line into a fitting end :(

-> q: 3rd / r: 5th

With all this stuff p5 is still somewhat crazy though, but there was much more possible by simply driving my thing, so I'm very dissappointed obviously.

Cya next time at Monaco (omg)

Q bad as always
R 8th high tension for all the race but big amusement along all the race, after few lap rain is coming and start also a nice battle with Bob Miley but when Bob gone in pit i did a lap more and than in pit a change only tires put wet I meet, before regular pit, Jim that I see on grass so easy pass for me than Anthony put a big pressure but at lap 22 tires was warmed 110° 120° I did again 3 laps but lost the position with Anthony the rain was few and tires wet too hot so in pit I put the slick and finish the race with Marko at few tenths.

Congratulation Heder, Reik, David:thumbsup:

Thanks PrestoGP,our Nico and Daniel The Weatherman and RD

Monaco next ? :confused::)

Where do I start?

Q, P7... so so

R, P6 (provisional pending Marko's appeal)

Lights out and away to a good start but as we got going I realised I had no FFB, I cannot drive without it so I had to carefully drop to the back of the field to reset it (ctl+alt+F)

Lap 1 plumb last, picked up a few places before the rain came and stayed out at least 1 lap too long, pitted for wets and brimmed the tank so I would not have to stop again if I went on an economy drive, as it "appeared":roflmao: to be drying out I stopped just once more for slicks but no fuel

not sure if this was a good idea or not, it was pretty much un-drivable but then it wasn't that great on wets either:)

I thought I had a big problem with my wheel because I couldn't drive in a straight line on the straights (or the bends for that matter) but after talking to Sean who also suffered the same maybe it's ok?... "wheel" have to see <:p:notworthy:

I let Sean past because as I saw him approach I thought "he must be lapping me, I can't be in-front of him", punched myself when I saw I'd lost a place

Then a few laps later he was in the fence, I did have a bit of a  (sorry Sean)

God only knows how I finished 6th, I've never driven so slowly or used so much grass in the history of Presto, but I'll take it as it comes my way

See you in the Cote d'azur:D

Jim

Q 9th
PB, not bad

R DNF
I started rather well and had some good moments with Anthony and Nicolai. However, when the rain started I never could adjust my driving and was constantly making mistakes.
Shortly after pitting for wets when rain had begun to fall and the slicks were no longer heating, I messed in the last turn, spun and ran into the pit wall, and unfortunately Eliezer had the same misfortune and hit me, giving me suspension damage. The car was still driveable, but maybe it messed something in the turns because I was much slower than the others and had great difficulties to keep the car on track.
Around mid-race, about 2 laps before I ran out of fuel, I was thinking about strategy for the last stint and considered trying the slicks since I felt my tires were sometimes heating too much. I then made my last mistake in T2, ending in the wall with a missing front wheel.

I'm very angry that I couldn't finish this race. I really don't know why I couldn't keep the car on track on the wet, my race setup was great and stable, and that usually meant good in the rain too, but not this time apparently.

Congratulations to all finishers, CU at the casino:)

When I changed back to slicks I had the same problem starting after 1,5 laps. The car was extremely hard to hold in a straight line. First I thought about having trouble with my controller but after some thinking I came to the conclusion, that the tyres were just too cold. Therefore the tyre pressure was too low and the right hide decreased. So when the downforce on the straights increased, it is very likely that the whole car touched the ground. This would explain that it felt like swimming on the straights and turning to random directions.

I think this was also a theoretical reason for Senna going straight off the road still having too low tyre pressure after too many laps behind the safety car.

Q.1st
R.dnf 1 min to go :( my luckiest season ever :roflmao:

Start was great until it rained early, I decided to pit and add fuel to end aswell as wets but car was extremely difficult to drive and I made a lot of mistakes. later I had to also stop for slicks and I did notice some difficulty in driving in straight lines to like people have said also car may have had some damage to, which lead to my final error .

Grats Helder Podium and Finishers! cyas at Monaco Woooooooo
Thanks Nico RD and Prestogp

Qualifying: 8th
I had very quick s1, after which I made a big mistake at T9, going on the sand and losing lots of time getting back on track.

Race: ?
I had a very good start for the race climbing from 8th to 5th at the start and later 3rd before 2nd lap was completed. On lap 9, when I pitted for the rain tyres, I was still 3rd, Sean (2nd) and Reik (1st) in my sight. I inherited the lead of the race when Reik made a pit stop on lap 10. A lap counting problem distracted my race from then on...

To be continued...

.

I was racing with your setup and I had the same problem on the strait and I believe You have a point here regarding the car touching the ground because of the low ride height and my guess is that Nicolai would have been the driver who would be suffering the most of us because he normally runs very soft suspension and according to your theory I can imagine in this situation his car would have been absolutely impossible to control on the main strait .. would be interesting to hear from him how he was doing so to strengthen your theory how true it is :) .

by the way I had an interesting race right from the start , Marko had a great start and I saw him coming punching his way through between me and David and passed both of us ,great drive m8 :), then after that some good fight with Nicolas and Nicolai, they both passed me and then along the way with Valter, Jim and Valerio.

when rain fall down I pitted for full tank and wet , my car was too heavy to drive and I was struggling on wet and I thought my race was over but then I saw many drivers struggling as well so it was a relief I was not alone :) , I passed some of them when they made mistakes but then the only person I met who gave me hard time to pass and was driving extremely well on wet was Valerio , when I came out of pit on lap 10 with full tank and wet he was around 3 seconds ahead of me and he kept the gape the same for almost 13 laps, I pushed really hard but I did more mistakes instead of closing the gap , the track start drying out and my all 4 wet tires reached 135c and start sliding all over the place , so the only time I started closing the gap to him when I start driving " Ala Valerio style" , I mean I stopped pushing and start diving smooth like him and only then I was able to close the gap , I could put a bit of pressure on him , he run wide and then I passed :D..

8 laps to go I had to pit again for some fuel to take me to the end and I put slicks on, the car was absolutely un-drivable, Sean was behind me and start putting some pressure with 2 laps to go, then I saw him running wide and hitting the wall on the final lap ..:speechless:..

Thanks Reik for a great qualy and race setup

Thanks everyone for a great race .. CU all at Monaco , the home of Valreio Pit Babes and some good beer :D..
lets hope this year we have a safe race and no one ends driving in the Marina ..ooops !!! did it happen before???:geek: ,

yes was a nice race Anthony. Im happy that you have put sweat for take me :D this means that I have a bit improvement, in truth is mine limit wet or dry I drive with the same style/speed and this is not so good but when rain falling down I have a big advantage all have same fear:D mmmm...
almost all:)

PS yes Anthony after race all go to the Disco, there is not necessary the speed so it is easier to take some nice:rolleyes:
they dance but on the spot:roflmao:
