Eric,

It has taken me about 10 months to get at all competitive. I am still a back marker in WTCC, where I struggle. Before the GT event at Brands Hatch, my best placing had been 6th out of 10 in a GTL event. It seems clear that I handle the higher power cars better. I now have two wins against small fields in those cars. However, in the Le Mans event this week, I crashed out half way through running with a full field of really good drivers. This is a very fun hobby, but one that takes some serious time to learn. Warren and Bram and Gary and others have been great about helping me out. You will generally find that the fast guys here are always willing to lend a hand. I am not a fast guy, but if I can help in any way, I will.:)

Hang tough! It is worth it both for the friendship and for the great feeling that comes as you realize that you are finally getting the hang of things.:D

Good Luck, and please let me know if you want to do some practicing some time.

Chris

Eric, one of the best ways I have found to improve quickly, is to get a replay of someone's hotlap, and study it to see their driving lines, braking points, and gear selections. If you watch the replay from the chase view with the HUD on, you can see all the info you need. Then I go out and try to reproduce it, as best I can. Of course if it is one from an alien, I just accept that I can't match that but try to find the best time for me then.

If you want a specific hotlap for an upcoming event, just ask someone. I am happy to provide what I can, but I'm not exactly the fastest.

not a bad race overall, had a bad qualy, started midfield, made a reasonable start spent most of the first stint following the battles in front and stealing what i could. made a couple of places up with pitsop. took lefts which had been my plan from the start. works very well round here as i set up tight and saved the rights. ran behind micheal for last few laps, endless switchbacks in goddards and melbourne but couldnt make them stick. he was alwfully slow thru some of the apexes and it kept catching me out. a few late retirements gifted us a couple of extra places eventually landing home in 7th.

once agin sincerest apologies to chris and thanks for you understanding :)
