Whelp, bad night for me and the Alfa overall. Started off reasonably well - made it into the 2:18s in qual. on a lap that had many mistakes. However this was good enough for P5 and I shut it down halfway through the session to get some practice on (what I thought was) full fuel load.

Race 1: Had a strong start for once and was in P4 heading into turn 1, but I knew it wouldn't last as my Alfa setups are notoriously skittish the first lap and a half. Had a very shaky first lap as a result but stayed out of trouble, and ended up P6 or P7 after the dust settled in lap 2. I started clawing my way back and was in striking distance of a pack that included Yves, Peter and Matt for quite some time. Spent the majority of the race in P6, with a bit of back and forth with Matt as we traded mistakes. Sorry about the little love tap Matt :) - although it worked out OK. After Marty was forced to leave early after his game crash I settled into P5 and cruised until lap 10, when my engine started gasping for fuel :( Stupid mistake - trusted the fuel estimate without calculating - and forced to retire. I think I finished P10.

Race 2: This was a mess from the beginning. Started last due to the DNF in the previous race and all the disconnects. Again had a shaky first lap, but worked my way up a few spots and tried to chase down the mid-pack. Something happened where I think Eric got sideways on a straight somehow (I haven't reviewed my replays yet, so I may be wrong) and I tried to avoid him but ended up hitting him in the door. I don't believe anyone was at fault for it, but I stopped and waiting for him just so we weren't wasting away in P9 and 10 by ourselves. After that we had a few more points of contact and I just was not into the race anymore - made a mental mistake near the last corner, on lap 4, nicked a curb and nosed into the wall. Just decided to call it a night after that. Better luck next week, I suppose.

Corey you are right it wasn't your fault at all. I hit the curb, went side ways and you were too close behind to be able to avoid me. I still think it was VERY VERY classy for waiting for me. Thank you!!! After that I had suspension, aerodynamics problems and the car was all over the place. From that point on I lost all desire to drive and once you passed me I gave up.

Haha, I guess my will to go on didn't last much longer :laugh2:

Well this track was one of my favorite for sure. It was such a flowing high speed momentum track and it played right into my driving style.

Quali: Hit a PB of 2:15.7 (alien time)

Race 1: Had a good start and got away cleanly. And shortly after on lap 1 went off in I believe corner 8. This put me back into 3rd and fighting. Fought for a lap or two before I got out front and had some clean track to put some distance between us. Ran a 2:16.8 in the race.

Race 2: OMG what a mess for me. The initial launch was great from 8th and I was looking good heading into T1 in 6th. It was 5 wide however and I decided to go outside and got onto the curb which put me instantly spinning under braking. This then put me into dead last. Slowly I worked my way up cleanly, with one exception I just tapped G Hudgins heading through Turn 8 and got him sideways. I waited so he could get back in line in his rightful position (sorry). Once I caught the top 3 There was a nice train of 4 cars running all fighting for position. I slowly chipped away and and managed to get through the train of bumper to bumper cars. And once i got some clean track in front I was able to push out some alien lap times :)

Great race to all. Congratulations to Mitch on a job well done. We look forward to racing with you again in the near future. Also I'd like to say well done to Peter for having back to back excellent runs in these club events. You're showing you're a fast consistent driver, well done.

Thanks Yves and RD. Cant wait for the next race.

Keith

Great fun all

1’st race
Started 7’th I think, and had a scary moment in the first lefthander when I braked somewhat early to keep clear of the car in front and the got bumped from behind. Slided wide after the bump and lost 2-3 places but saved it.
Had a clean race and ended on 7’th position

2’nd race
Started in 11’th
On fist lap I made a stupid mistake and gave someone a bump in that short uphill directly after the s-bend make hem spun and so did I.
I waited for hem to rejoin and so I was last…. but my fault so really sorry for that.
Ha a great race up to 10’th or so when I ran to wide on the last corner before start-finish and I ended up outside the wall….. L
Had to drive backwards up on the track and finished 17’th or so (don’t want to remember)

3’d race
Started 8’th or 9’th I think. On first long lefthander on first lap I was pushed from the inside left and slided wide. Rejoined in 12-14 or so and managed to drive cleanly from that on taking me up to 8’th
Where chasing Hansi and putting on the preassure on the last 3-4 last laps when he suddenly on corner 1 on last lap run wide and I could get 7’t position.

Great fun and I really hope we do it again….

Just checked the replay from 1 lap incident at Cadwell
I thought I was to blame all by my own, but I see now that i'm not guilty to all the mess.
Yes i started it, and im really sorry for that but when I bumped Marcin Wojcik, I was then immediately hit from behind from Manuel Garcia, but the trouble really begun when Jason Parks plunged trough all of the 3 cars staying on the track sending us off spinning around further more, and just kept driving on…

And at Le Mas, the replay tells me that I was pushed from behind in that first corner spin by ….. Jason again !!

Not all that happy right now with some….

Welcome to another event for the Oceania Zone.

wtccnight.jpg

These races are primarily aimed towards our members in Australia, New Zealand, and S.E. Asia so the race times are set for that zone. However, we welcome entrants from other timezones who would like to race at this time and help us to maximize our starting grids.
The only thing we ask is that priority be given to Oceania members since they often don't get the opportunity to race other events.

For this event, we will use the WTCC cars, but will use the Brno '07 track.

Signups will close 1Hr before the Practice start time

New start time has been imposed to reflect New Zealand and Australian D.S.T.
