40 teams, historic venue, best in class physics simulation, DX11, endurance racing, quality drivers, mixed weather and big prizes - RDLMS by Vesaro comes to Northampton on Saturday...

RaceDepartment does sim racing, has done for the past 12 years and if we don't mind saying it ourselves we do a pretty good job.. never more so than in our flagship racing series the legendary RaceDepartment Le Mans Series by Vesaro, now heading stronger than ever into it's seventh season of competition this year.

We've grown up as a community over the last decade or so, and RDLMS has grown up with us. Migrating from the venerable rFactor simulation software to the latest and greatest from Image Space Incorporated & Studio 397, RDLMS by Vesaro has never in it's illustrious history provided such a realistic and demanding challenge as it will during the 2017 season. Because we are living in a golden age of sim racing we are lucky enough to be able to call upon the brilliant features from within rFactor 2 for this season, including day to night transition, real time weather, dynamic racing surfaces, driver swaps, 6, 12 and 24 hour racing and of course those simply astounding physics that lurk under the hood of this powerful racing simulation.

Throw into the pot some quality first and third party content in the form of an incredibility attractive line-up of circuits and the great Enduracers Endurance Series V1.00 modification, plus a massive field of top level sim racing drivers and teams all fighting for the honour of being crowned series champion and in with a chance of winning brilliant gear from our amazing prize pool thanks to series partners Vesaro and Thrustmaster, then you have the ingredients for something rather special indeed...

Luckily you don't have to be trackside to enjoy the excitement of RDLMS by Vesaro this season. We will be streaming all the racing action, all season, in high quality and with top class commentary via our various social media and video streaming channels. If the spectacle out on track isn't enough for you however then we'll throw in the opportunity to grab yourself some quality sim racing equipment too!

For those of you familiar with RDLMS by Vesaro you probably already know about the awesome prize package we have in place for the season ahead. Just to remind you of what's on offer I invite you to check out a couple of links and see what you can be in with a chance of winning. Enduracers doesn't work with it so I guess not..
This is not the reason why we will not / cannot use DX11 for the stream. But I'm sure that you are already aware of this.

Are you guys going to stream it on DX11? :)
No plugins work with DX11. Therefore our overlay would not work. We have to stream in DX9. No choice.
To reiterate what Joseph has already said, graphical plugins do not work with DX11 unless they are updated to be compatible. Unfortunately the GR TV Plugin is one such plugin that will cause the game to crash when using DX11, therefore we are restricted to run the game with DX9 for the stream as we would like to continue using the broadcast overlay. Hopefully there will be an alternative in the near future that will enable us to stream events using DX11.

Good luck to all the teams and hope you have a great race :)

I'm at Silverstone for the Blancpain series but I'll tune in and see how things are going

I ran some random tests with the Enduracer cars on the DX11 build. Ok, we could work on the white colour schemes for the league (the DX11 build doesn't like anything more than 80% white, it flares badly) but for things like cockpit views any white marks, switches, gloves, etc. just look like the surface of the sun! You can control it to a certain extent (turning down various options) but Enduracers are working on it and will release an update later on in the year :)

By comparison the Studio 397 updated content doesn't suffer as badly (because the image maps have all been worked on).
