    Rich Energy Saga.jpg
The bizarre tale of Rich Energy has taken another unexpected twist today, with news that the company is under new ownership, a new name and no longer associated with the bearded one...

Yes you heard it right, the sometimes controversial and often hilarious episodes of Rich Energy have taken another twist today, with William Storey, the founder of the brand and the man most prominently associated with the energy drink manufacturer having exited the company, leading to the Haas F1 sponsor rebranding as Lightning Volt and moving to new ownership.

According to Companies House documents, it appears that the Rich Energy brand is no more, with new directors, ownership and business address listed against the company - as well as a rebranding to Lightning Volt - but where this leaves the title sponsorship deal with the American Haas F1 team remains to be seen.

In something of an interesting and rather confusing move, outgoing Rich Energy founder Storey headed to social media to announce he has sold his majority stake in the brand to a 'third party' - complete with a photograph of story alongside former Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone....

    Rich Energy Tweet.jpg

How strange is all this then? Looks like the saga of the Rich Energy / Lightening Volt / Haas F1 story has a little bit longer to run...

You can apparently already get a Volt Energy Drink, because it already exists in South Africa. Now all we need is another logo infringement, leading to another name change to Toro Rollo.

Amazon, if you live in the right country. Norway is not...

On a sidenote, Storey apparently transferred the Rich Energy name rights or something over to another company before this happened, so - and take this with a pinch of salt - according to Storey talking about himself in 3rd person, he still have the Rich Energy name rights, however the company that was named Rich Energy - that had...has... a deal with HAAS is now called Lightning Volt (No e there @Paul Jeffrey ;) )

It all seemed to unravel with the news that the lawyers Storey have used, didn't want to represent him anymore, and that Storey is(was?) supposed to go to court on Thursday, as he sold 20% of the shares in Rich Energy to a fine-wine investment(!) company called Vin-X in 2017, however, Vin-X never got those shares. And those 20% was enough to remove Storey from having a majority of the shares.

Now, the new CEO of Lightning Volt is also the sole active director of these companies: Treereg ltd, Lead Kite ltd, Empire Tree ltd, SUVL ltd, Silver Pot ltd, Silver Roof ltd, Blue Key Solutions ltd, which all are generic renames of other companies. E.g:
    Treereg was Clark Motorsport Limited
Lead Kite limited was JH Business Advisers Limited
Empire Tree Limited was Inspired Technical Services LTD
SUVL Limited was N & P Electrical Installations Limited

Also, the change of address for Rich... Lightning Volt initially changed to the address(then changed it again, to remove the link) of a somewhat dodgy thing called The BDG Group. BDG offers to buy companies that are heading for insolvency , as they say themselves
It seems like all the 8 companies that the new boss Matthew Bruce Kell is a part of, have all been renamed to something generic/weird, and are likely in the same economic situation as Rich... Lightning En... Volt. All companies bought in 2018 (one) and 2019 (seven).

But to end this post - let's take the most interesting bit from the BDG Group.
Yes. Unlicensed. I am sure that if I ever need some help, it's the unlicensed people I want to go to, just like unlicensed doctors and lawyers and so on.

For some reason I don't feel like the saga is over yet. And as @rubaru have said... This kinda exists already.

According to Rich Energy, they did/do sell the drink in 4 Scandinavian countries. They don't even ship it to Norway. Also, strictly speaking, there are just 3 countries in Scandinavia. So they are active in 4 out of 3 countries, not shipping to one of the three and seemingly not being sold in a second either. I guess I know why Magnussen is in all the pictures then :whistling:

tosseR is already taken in F1 circles - after all, the Tyrrell Mechanics did swap around the T and R of Ricardo Rosset's name while he was driving for the team.

A last little fun(?) thing. The Vin-X company. To quote dear "Frood" from another forum.

Vin-X refer to themselves as “Fine Wine Investment Experts”. They’re based in a small office building in Horsham, West Sussex. Their main director, Peter R. Shakeshaft, appears to have his fingers in many pies in the wine investment industry (yep, that’s a thing) in that he’s also a director of the Wine Investment Association (of which Vin-X is a member) and London Wine Exchange Ltd. He also appears to be a director of Middle Street Land Ltd., which as far as I can tell does nothing. Appears to have been a stockbroker in a past life as part of Wills & Co. Stockbrokers Ltd., as well as having sporting links – having once been the chairman of the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association. The second director, Austin S. Healey, is fairly well known in the UK as an ex-England international rugby player. In recent years he appears to have been heavily invested in energy – not drinks, but green energy; wine investment seems to be a bit of a left-turn compared to his previous directorships.

But ye, here you have Austin Healey (yup, that IS his name: Source) and a guy called Shakeshaft getting involved. Like it wasn't weird enough as it is! :)

Isn't it "Lightning Volt" instead of "Lightening Volt"?

What is this supposed to be, a news article, or just another bash posting regarding RE?
I get the feeling that in every RE post here, it's more and more about a quick "hah! look at them!"-joke, rather than actually providing some researched information.

    Sorry, just my $0.02

I seriously hope Haas just get rid of these fools. Rich Energy is just constantly making more and more drama by doing this stupid ****. Get a sponsorship deal with Whyte Bikes or something.

Denmark does. So, Scandinavia is Norway, Denmark and Sweden (ranked from best to worst of course :whistling:). This is based on the language we speak, our old norse - north germanic languages that is similar enough that in broad terms, we are all able to understand each other while speaking our own language.
You might go the Scandinavian Peninsula - route, which excludes Denmark, and includes Finland (and maybe, possibly a small part of western Murmansk in Russia). Regardless, it's only 3(3.02?) countries there as well.

The "issue" is that English-speakers rarely use "Nordic", the Nordic countries refer to us all, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and the associated territories.

This was todays totally unnecessary off-topic post, just because I am being anal about something! Sorry!:x3:

Never seen any Rich Energy drinks in Finland. We don't even have Burn here. Just Red Bull, Monster, and some Lidl stuff.
(this isn't even related to your comment tbh lol)
