rFactor - Historic GT & Touring Car 2.0 – First Preview Videos

rFactor video maker stabiz has made a first preview video of Team HistorX’s Historic GT & Touring Car mod project for rFactor, showing two brand new cars in action.

The video shows the Porsche 904 and the Ferrari 250 GTO, two cars that will be included in the completely scratch-made 2.0 version of the mod.

Using GT Legends as a base, the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor proved to be one of the most popular releases for the simulation. The second version of the mod will be made up completely of scratch-made material, bringing several famous historic racing cars to rFactor.

Stabiz has also released another video, showing us some very impressive on-board footage of the Ferrari 250 GTO at Monza.

The 250 GTO was build by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964, only 36 examples were built, being powered by a three-liter V12 engine, putting out 300hp. The car enjoyed tremendous success in racing, winning the 1962, 1963 and 1964 World Manufacturers Championship.

Historix is brilliant, this is true.

The "completely scratch made" thing - does that mean no GTL base content at all? And no GTL disk check?

That would be sweet, although looking at some of the models in the vid, I'll wait and see until release.

Ah - OK, just did a bit of digging.

The Part 2 cars are all scratch built, some of the Part 1 cars have updates, but the team confirmed that they will still be using SimBin models for the Part 1 cars, so it prob means a disk check still required.

Please note that it’s not decided yet how the next update of HGT&TC mod is going to be released. Despite after releasing 1.0 we’ve been focused on creating 100% scratch made cars we have also a lot of updates for the cars already included in v1.0, being most of them part of GTL. Releasing all that together would mean that the second update would have a GTL DVD check also, that’s for sure.

Anyway, and I’m repeating myself, nothing is decided yet about in which form the next update it will be released.

Regards

ps. No, we’re not redoing the GTL cars. Simbin’s cars are superb and i guess we all prefer to have new cars.

Still looks mighty fine, though :good:

Mystery spy shot released:

Looks like a Porsche 916 (?). What do you guys think (or know) it is?
