rFactor 2 | July Development Roadmap - Plenty Of Interesting Content

I tried the new Stockcars on the Charlotte Oval.I also took the corresponding setup from the list. The tyre temps went up to 140° and more.Is that normal? I am absolutely no Stockcar specialist. It`s especially interesting because most of my rf2 cars tyres stay much too cold, they just don`t want to heat up.

Would raising the AI limiter for the oval tracks tighten up the spacing? On the default setting (5 maybe) it's absurd how the cars spread out after 1 or two laps, even on the short tracks. This is using the 3PA ovals, I have not tested any of Machine's ovals.

Edit: Going to try this suggestion from the Steam page. The car feels and handles so well that I don't want to give up on it!

have you enabled the StockCarRules plugin (full course yellows), bumped the AI settings to 110-115/50/25 (put this to closer to 40-50 for more pack racing), and verified your "CURNT Safety Car Thresh":1 in player.ini? I've had some fantastic races against AI, make sure you go for at least 20 minutes so you actually have to manage your tires

Not sure where this was promised, but it was changed to only loading these fav servers once, instead of each time when you access the race menu. It takes 1-2 seconds per time I startup an play rF2 now, which is fine with me.

They also changed earlier that no restart of rF2 is necessary anymore when new Workshop content is installed, which was one of my main annoyances of earlier beta UI‘s released.

I am curious what S397 will consider a stable enough new UI release, since the current one displays a lot of question marks for content instead of thumbnails and incorrect details on content (e.g. circuit length is still 21 km for each circuit layout).

These new free Stock Car 2018’s and updated Loch Drummond are very welcome, thank you Studio 397! Also nice to add 2 new GT3’s soon. I would have liked to know what new circuit will be added though... still hoping for a Spa Francorchamp, since the current mod versions are not working well on my system.

On the subject of Spa, what do you folks think to this idea? https://forum.studio-397.com/index....e-1966-belgium-grand-prix.66944/#post-1036524

Just tried Portland for the first time in the Aston and really nice flow however my pit box is located right where the cars enter from the garage and while in my box I keep getting hit lol. Marcel and team can you please have them move the pit box. Maybe it’s known already? Thanks. The physics are amazing

I have done some short races at Indianapolis, 20 laps or so, and they don't appear to spread out too much. I'm only doing it on 95% AI and 50% aggression, but it sure works for me. It's tough to pass at Indy, and I was concentrating so hard my eyes were almost watering. S397 has sure done a good job with these cars.:)

So I finally got round to giving the Stockcar 2018 a proper go at some ovals!

I tried it out at NOLA and some road course's when it first came out and I've gotta say it feels great! Like you might expect a 750hp heavy stockcar to feel (not that I've driven one IRL which is why I say imagine)
The weight transfer, general feeling of the tires, the feeling of driving it on the edge, the way it communicates under and over steer, how you have to look after the engine and of course... The POWER!

It's a monster of a challenge!

Then I tried to go proper NASCAR and take it oval racing. Of course the first place I thought of had to be Indianapolis! The Brickyard, Gasoline Alley, The Spectacle! I don't know much about NASCAR and have not tried it much since NR2003 but that's gotta be the place right?

Oh dear, did not know what I was letting myself in for!

Stockcar oval racing is a great learning experience that will help improve your close racing with drivers. If you think that was intense then wait until you have a proper endurance race with the need to pit for tires and fuel all while dealing with yellow flags. The strategy needed is a new and wonderful experience.

This will help with your Blue Flags issue thus allowing you to use Flags in your races!
Look in your UserData/player/player.JSON > "GPRIX BlueFlags#":"0=none, 1=show but never penalize

Good day. How do I get rain ingame - do select the settings bot only seem to get slightly overcast conditions. Any advice ?
Change weather from default to scripted, click on any of the 5 weather slots, below that choose anything from sunny to storm preset for each slot. You can even fine tune it by selecting the exact % of rain chance. If you want random weather set them all to something like 30 to 50% then it may rain, it may not.

Hi there, thanks! If you increase the humidity % and ambient temperature, will that improve the chance of rain ? In true life that is the cause of afternoon thunderstorms.
This is interesting actually, I've raced a few times with weather scripted but with 0% rain chance and it still tried to rain, afterwards I noticed the humidity settings were v high, so I did wonder if that had something to do with it. It was v light rain and only for a few minutes.
