Following on from the recent Porsche 911 GT3 R announcement, Studio 397 have now confirmed the second of four new cars... the BMW M6 GT3!

Set to form part of a four car #rFchallenges DLC offering for the simulation, the next car confirmed to be heading to the rFactor 2 is the stunning BMW M6 GT3 - due to be added alongside the 911 GT3 R alongside two further as yet unannounced vehicles.

At this very early stage of proceedings we are yet to learn when the new pack is expected to land, nor how much it will cost or even if the two mystery cars will even be from the GT3 category, but one thing is for sure - the next few weeks should most certainly be exciting ones for rFactor 2 players!

My point is, they do not even acknowledge our valuable feedback. We go to painstaking lengths to advise on what happens on such a condition, etc. We do not even get a respond or an acknowledgement for our work.

As far as i know they read the feedback people give, on forums, etçª, but as it's obvious they will not ask or tell people what they're going to do. Things change very fast (i imagine) in this kind of business, they look like a team that have all things planned, like an agenda, but you never know what's going to happen tomorrow, so they can't compromise or open the book about their work, we all know how humans are :D

I'm sorry, but are you ever going to address the concerns of the AI? You haven't even addressed the AI comments in his response, which therefore leads me to think you're still palming this off like you have done for years. The AI not overtaking when they're expected to pit on the same lap is a valid concern, one which has mentioned time and time again. Just like the AI not utilizing a slip stream. We have fundamental issues with the AI which have existed for years, and despite your playerbase advising you of these issues, you make no comment; even on the official forums..

We are aware there are still a few open issues on how our AI behave, and they are part of a much larger list of open issues that our community has made us aware of. We listen to this feedback, but we don't always respond to each post on each forum.

Looking at your posts, you obviously race against the AI a lot in different simulations, and the two issues you point out in rFactor 2's AI are certainly valid and noted. They just have not gone to the top of our list yet. That might be disappointing, and right now I don't have a solid date on which we will fix them, but I am confident that we will address them eventually.

are you kidding? i have raceroom too, is a very good sim with state of the art sounds, but it lacks several things. weather, rain, day/night cycle, modern tire model, real road, dx11...finished experience??
Agree, but "something big" is coming to RR and Georg Ortner haven't spoiled anything else, but i guess this long awaited ranking-system might be reality soon.

Realistically speaking though, is this even something you can pursue? The original creators who designed and implemented AI logic were unable to address these issues, what suggests that you can? This is in no means malicious either, I would just be interested to hear your perspective on things.

If all people had your way of thinking we were all living in a cave and hunting animals to eat...

Do you even think before asking that kind of things? :O_o:

So you don't know if they're working on AI but you still bother on putting a useless response on developers behalf.

Not sure if you know, but Studio397 only took over rFactor2 in 2016, the years before who was in charge was ISI, the original creators of the simulator...

By the way S397 done more for the good of rF2 these couple of years, than ISI, if they're working on the AI? I don't know, maybe yes, but for sure Marcel won't be answering what they're doing now, but regarding their work these last years i'm sure they're working on the right path for the future of the simulator ;) maybe just the priority in this moment is not the AI...

Just reading this thread, and the other one on the Porsche, I am wondering where the notion came from that we are releasing 4 cars? Lots of interesting suggestions in these threads though! We'll reveal more soon as approvals come in!
Hi Marcel.
Just want to say I absolutely love rfactor2, it is still my go to sim and I don't see anything changing that. The addition of these GT3 cars is more than welcome and I am more than happy to pay for them.

It says in the article that 2 more cars are due to be released. Is that incorrect?

What on earth are you talking about? I'm not aware of an AI Programmer within the current team, are you?

NO! But i guess they know what they're doing right? What tells you that the previous team were unable to address these issues also?

If Marcel already said that it makes part of the huge list of things "to do" why are you putting in doubt their capacity to do it? :O_o:
