Studio 397 have been incredibly busy of late, having today confirmed their third piece of content for the simulation in quick succession.

The brand new Radical SR3 XX joins the recently released New York E-Prix and Ferrari 488 GTE within the simulation, and is available to purchase with immediate effect from the rF2 Steam Store, for around £4.50.

The SR3 XX is the evolution of the best-selling race car in the world, the SR3 which was first introduced in 2001. While the styling mostly remained untouched with just a few key elements setting the XX apart from its predecessor, underneath it’s an all new track weapon.

Radical knows that not just the car needs to evolve to be quicker, but that also drivers need the best tools to move forward and develop themselves. That’s the reason for all the new bits and pieces mainly by provided by AiM. The first thing noticed by drivers as most prominent change is probably the new steering wheel. A brand new Formula style steering wheel, fully packed with technology normally only found in high-level single-seaters and Le Mans Prototypes. Functioning basically as the HUB, the new AiM steering wheel now gives the driver access to all kind of new functionalities to access, evaluate and analyze data, helping to improve on track.

The fresh SR3 XX is still powered by the 4th Gen RPE-Suzuki engine including a dry sump oil system as standard. The power plant is hooked up to a six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift and auto-blip function, a Quaife limited-slip differential taking care of getting enough traction out of the corner.

With only 620 kg total weight, the Radical SR3 XX is the perfect tool to carve your way through all kind of combinations of corners.

Can you do a versus video with the old and new XX version? Sound, interior, handling... Is it even worth buying the new one?
No, I can't, sorry. As for is it worth buying...that's for you to answer. I don't regret the purchase if that's what you're asking.

But you can't drive 10 GT3 cars in RR with such13 EUR purchase.
I generally tend to only drive a single car during a race. And even that is sometimes clearly beyond my ability. So I don't see a point of driving 10 of them at the same time, I don't think the rest of the drivers would be very happy about that.

Ah so you're sayin spending 87 EUR in rF2 was just for one multiclass race?
Edit: and I forgot to add that for the price besides 10 GT3 he can drive, he'd get base game(which offers much more than free RR content) with ton of mods.
But ok you showed rF2 is the most expensive game by far, because you need to spend 87 EUR , setup everyting and do a single multiclass race:)
But seriously to be fair, new user who doesn't want to spend too much money could for instance buy base game and get Apex GT3 and Enduracers mods (which are free) and race on 100+ tracks(which admitedly are probably lower quality than in RR) not only on Nords.

I'm sorry, but I really don't get what was so unclear or difficult to understand on my post. I clearly stated (I think) that it compares the admission cost for a new player to do a multiclass race. Nothing more, nothing less. I did it because the video in question talked about exactly that, as in that rF2 can be quite expensive to get into. And I posted it because it surprised even me how expensive it can actually be.

And no, I don't think it's an unfair comparison. I would even go as far as to say that it's quite a realistic scenario a new player might face. And yes, of course, if they later decide to drive more cars, then the difference will slowly get lower. Though, as also mentioned, you can still buy everything in Raceroom to date for 30 euro less than what you will spend on those two classes and one track in rF2 alone.

But my point is exactly that realistically no one will spend 87 EUR for a base game , 10 GT3 cars, LMP2 and track to drive one GT3 car in one race.
So you’re keep taking about this very narrow scenario that makes rF2 look like extremely expensive game and contrast with a game where it would be the cheapest. But in such case, where he is supposed to buy the whole game and DLC packs to drive one car on one track - again you omitt a possibility to buy one GT3 he’d want to drive and have multi class race with all cars from Enduracers and one of GT3 mods.
Realistically a new user could buy GT3 and Endurance packs on 50% sale (which BTW should be within 3 weeks) , while in RR you only have 25% off on packs during sale. I could easily come up with scenarios that make RR expensive in comparison to rF2. You also could for instance say AC is expensive in comparison because to drive one GT3 car in GT3 race you must buy base game and 3 Dream Packs DLC. But in fact now most people can just buy Ultimate edition for a little more.

Again I think it’s not fair. Premium pack in RR that gives you all content for 90% off is 99 EUR.
Unless in case of RR you suddenly apply sale discount and also assume a new user will know about vRP and buy it first.
And I think for rF2 besides the 3 DLC car packs and a track you still count base game , right?

Anyway, I don’t understand why would someone spend 99 EUR if he just wants to drive one GT3 in a multiclass race?;)

In addition to the price, we must evaluate the satisfaction that RF2 gives us.

Yesterday I played 12 laps in Mount Panorama (free circuit), with the day / night cycle, in GT3.

Impressive the physics of the GT3, spectacular the FFB, the day / night transition is incredible, the AI very wise and challenging to take care of its side when attacked but without causing brutal accidents.

Those 12 laps (and I can put many more examples, this was the most recent) are equivalent to 500 hours of other arcade / games with totally neglected AI like others we already know.

Do you drive more than one car in a single race? No.
Do you need all rF2 multiclass content to be able to race online in a multiclass race? Yes.
Do you need all R3E multiclass content to be able to race online in a multiclass race? No.

Very easy to understand, I think.
 
AC is expensive in comparison
You can buy the Ultimate Edition for ~ 40 Euro, that includes every DLC. That's just 10 Euro more than the base rF2 game with no DLC.

It was. You want to keep arguing because you can't or don't want to concede that rF2 is very expensive for new players if they want the popular content.

I know that and that was my point. I just gave very similar example, in which you could make AC look very expensive just to have GT3 race, while realistically new user would probably buy the Ultimate edition for a little more. Or even he could wait for sale and buy Ultimate for like $12 + tons of (varying quality) mods. That’s why I said such “narrow” and unrealistic scenario is kinda unfair.

Ok, I see what you're after. The difference is, rF2 doesn't offer you a package deal like AC does nowadays.

Alot of folks in here have been asking for a comparison between the new SR3 and the old one, and so did i, so seeing as I've got it now I thought do one myself, so anyone still wanting that, here's my take on it. Please excuse the sound and graphics Res, bit I gotta work with the equipment I've got, hope it's useful.
