As well as Portland, other highlights from the last 24 hours include a revised and updated Silverstone, plus many changes and updates to the various GTE specification cars following the successful Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans event.

rF2 graphics are never going to compete with AC/ACC/AMS2, you are fooling yourself if you think they ever will. That is not the reason that those who love it, love it. It is the total driving experience, which is tops among the modern sims in my opinion. ACC comes so close, but just not quite there.

Racing these GTEs at Sebring, really no experience matches it in any other sim

I agree with the people already wrote an answer on this. Actually I prefer rF2 graphics as it looks, from my point of view, more realistic.

You are referring to rF2 graphics compared with ACC graphics? There is an argument there for sure, but ACC is the only sim in my opinion that gets close to rF2 in regards to physics and overall driving experience. Looking forward to the GT4 DLCs coming this summer, but rF2 will still be my go-to sim.

the difference i see is that ACC colours and lighting are more cartoonish, this has always broken immersion in kunos titles
Neither of the two games in the screenshot are in their default config regarding colour and "lighting", though. Just thought it's worth pointing out. (And I still don't like the colours in rF2 when not corrected - or "corrected", up to you - even after the recent changes.)

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I really don't see that much of a difference there (outside of ACC's 3D grass).

You forget the 3D trees in ACC - they are the best looking, more realistic trees in any Sim so far.
For me that quality trees are beautiful to watch and add a lot of immersion, I love them.

rFactor 2 has improved its trees a lot since Nords, or maybe a bit before too in Sebring and
Le Mans; but they are not up there yet with ACC's trees. I find most of its trees too light green
or whitish and billboard looking... but they will keep improving them, I'm sure.

I have a voucher for an "Extrem Experience" on this track, so this is a real treat to have in advance! The sim traxx version on AC is decent, but having this on the Rfactor2 engine is especially cool!

Yeah its nuts when you get it dialed in and realize how good it is. :) I was the same. Years and years looking at rF2 and going "naaah". Then one day i was just browsing around Steam and saw rF2 was on a sale and thought "why not". Took an EVE car (here comes the same story again) loaded up Belgium '66 and got a smile from ear to ear as soon as the race started. So alive. So brutal. So much detail to the wheel from the bumpy track. So fast and so damn scary. :D If you didnt test it, and even if old school formulas isnt your favorite - try it. Just try it. Trust me.
On a large DD you need to put the forces down, going in the barriers is a brutal experience.
Sweaty palms all the way keeping those monsters on the road.

Never say never :) I bet there is still quite a lot of juice in gMotor. So far I am more convinced by rF2 than any other of available sims. At least from what I can see on my screen, and especially real time onboard. Usually there is still stuff left for a desire for looks. External replay cameras aren't always ideal, screenshot mode is quite a lot limited to make great screenshots easily, a lot of content is a LOT under possibilities of rF2 looks, of course even at its best rF2 still has some things to get better at, but we aren't going to get full list here.

Few screenshots I recently made:
