Great first race, guys, thanks :barefoot:
Ran out of talent about half-way through and ended up at the back as usual, but still had fun.

Bonus point: Didn't get lapped! :roflmao:

Second race, got shunted off on the final downhill section before the last corner, but at least you lot are entertaining to listen to while stuck in a garage with a BER car

Race 1
Started 4th, but got caught up in the concertina at turn 3 and got spun to the back. Recovered to 7th briefly, but a couple of errors put me into the chasing pack and a 4-5 car battle which was intense while it lasted. Chased @Dennis Phelan and @Aleksander Pienkowski towards the end, but my lack of running on worn tyres showed as I made a few trips into the gravel, costing me those places. However, retirements ahead promoted me to 8th, where I finished.

Race 2
Started on pole, but I pushed Dennis wide at one of the hairpins and in my hesitation got out of shape, got tagged, and had a wild spin across the grass. No damage done, and incidents ahead had me back into the midfield. The highlight was a mid-race battle with @Björn Golda (pictured), but he got past when I forgot where I was on the track. Eventually finished 6th when Dennis hit trouble late on.

Great fun! I wish I could make the Tuesday touring car events more often, but I'm definitely looking forward to taking the Minis round here on Friday.

Crazy track, but some very nice racing :)

I had put in a few laps on the weekend already, given that this was definitely a track that would need some practice ;) Still, I only got below the 1:30's today and with @Paul P Jordan, who was driving in a class of his own, skipping quals, I managed to snatch pole position.

Practicing some starts in warmup paid off because although it was the well-known Leon, it was an uphill start - not your everyday start :) Managed to get off the line fairly well and kept P1 - with @Joe Cannarozzo and @Radovan Nevriva fighting (and thus losing some seconds) behind me, I could even build a gap. Said gap was then vaporized by Paul, who got by me shortly before half-time, IIRC

Tried to keep up, but to no avail - still, I was left rather disappointed when he DNF'd by resetting to the pits:

Inherited P1 and kept a constant, albeit not that big of a gap to Joe in P2 that later grew bigger as he seemed to get into more tyre trouble towards the end.

Starting into the second race from P8, I had another good start and could pass a few drivers on the left side (so many Chevys!)

The first lap had quite some action, though - first a small domino-effect of bumps that cost a few seconds as others went by, then @Aleksander Pienkowski went across the track sideways after a collision

Not too much time lost, though. Until we were approaching the last turn, that is - after a quite hard battle between @Connor Caple and Paul, the BMW seemed to be bit squiggly and got sliding in front of me - caught his rear and off we went. After waiting, I was back in P8, the hunt was on again ;)

Closed the gap to @Campbell Wallis and Alex and went by after a while - unfortunately, that wasn't built to last when Alex locked up his brakes approaching the final corner.

Once again, I caught up with Campbell and we had a really nice fight until he outbraked himself ;)
Next, I set out to gain time on @Belet Michel which worked out through a few laps, collecting @Dennis Phelan's position after an off on his side

Another few laps down the drain and I got by Michel - with mere minutes to go, I was gaining some time on Radovan, alas, not enough - P4, it was :)

Thanks for racing, everyone, see you next time (likely Friday, won't make it Thursday :))

EDIT:
Also, a pretty productive week skin-wise :)

I would like add my skin. Here is:

Thank you. Now I have to do something for sttc and historic

Nice work! Would you mind deciding on one of the two Toledo liveries, though? Thanks :)

Wow, only two more race dates left for this track! Certainly interesting and entertaining.

The car didn't seem to need as much work as the driver to get some speed going. IT took several "Ahha!" moments before I had some real speed, unfortunately most of it came too late.

A quali run on race fuel was very good until I goofed on the last set of hilltop corners but still in a nice place on the grid.

Race1: Horror as Campbell wanted so hard to be an attachment over the top of my grill but my race engineer said he had to go so I had to leave him behind. Most of the first half of the race was like that, car bumped from this side and that, just about everywhere as everybody was looking for space. A lack of luck had me in position for the front row but then I was saved by a move to row two for race two, yipee :(

Lemonade was made at the start of the race when Campbell left room at T2 for me and I stole as much room as I could at the front so as to spread out the upcoming attacks by the fastguys. REally, that worked out fine and gave me a chance to work hard against each of them as they came up on me. Unfortunately it really ate up my tires and they were heating up much more than R1 and at the end I was left almost unable to steer the car, I had to give up.

We did n't look much like professional racers out there today but I hope the fun factor overcame and bumps and bruises gathered during the event. It's a good thing there are lots of mods out there, not much chance for me to bring back this mentally and physically tiring track. I'll find another ;)

Won't make this one, unfortunately - but with @Sam Hill adding the first retro livery to our pack, here's your link :)

Should be good for this :)

I'm so in - when we got here last time, I didn't like Macau too much, but I hadn't raced it that much, either. Turned out to be a blast, so join us, everyone reading this :p (also, it was my first RD win, IIRC - maybe this one will be yours?)
