Kylotonn Racing Games have confirmed this September will see the release of the next officially licensed World Rally Championship video game - WRC 8.

Imaginatively titled as always, the eighth instalment to the steadily improving WRC franchise of games is set to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC this September, and promises to be an all round improvement on previous iterations of the long running franchise.

New for WRC 8 will be a revised physics system across the many varied different racing surfaces within the game, plus the inclusion of what looks to be an already very impressive looking dynamic weather system, presumably adding a feature to allow the 100+ official WRC stages to be experienced in a variety of different weather conditions.

Of the new dynamic weather, Bigben and Kylotonn had the following to say during a brief press release to accompany the brand new announcement trailer:

"A new dynamic weather system has been developed to add random elements to the driving experience, but also to increase realism in the game. Managing the weather is a real challenge for the drivers: modified grip, car settings adjustments, tyre selection optimization, weather team relationship to ensure the best tips and information on the latest conditions. More than mere visual effects, climatic conditions become crucial, especially in the management of your career"

Of course with the title coming out toward the end of the year, the new WRC 8 release will replicate the 2019 FIA World Rally Championship season, including the latest cars and drivers from the official teams' of the category. Featuring over 50 drivers, including the returning multiple champion Sébastien Loeb in his new Hyundai, 14 different events across over 100 individual stages, WRC 8 certainly lacks nothing in terms of scale.

Most importantly of all for sim racers looking to get their rally kicks, Kylotonn have promised that "WRC 8 will go above and beyond WRC 7, especially in the steering requirements and the realistic physics of the vehicles" - one of the weaker points from previous releases.

As well as the class leading WRC cars, the new game is also set to feature a selection of vehicles from the WRC 2 and Junior WRC categories, alongside a number of historic cars. Team management is also set to play a role in the expanded career mode, with the player able to improve their car by way of upgrades and team developments, of which more details are expected to be revealed in the near future.

Exciting times for fans of sideways action.

Im having issues on some of the bumpy stages in Wales, etc. The car porpoises like crazy, like the rebound is way off or something. Im still testing things, but if anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated!

Also, the understeer on entry is still a problem, is there anyway to get rid of some of it?
About car behave weird while airborne... I've said that quite long time ago:

For understeer problem - maybe to set brake bias more towards the back, that's way you should have more overseer in entry and easier weight shifting.

I gave the mod a quick try before work today. I didn't have time to mess around with the cameras just some runs through the Agnieres-en-Devoluy stage. Ended up shaving a second off my PB but couldn't really tell/feel any physics changes, IDK maybe I was too focused on hauling ass and not hitting anything. One thing I could definitely tell was different was the camera shaking violently whenever I made heavy contact with a wall/tree/house/ect. Problem is that it keeps shaking for several seconds after the impact which is a bit nauseating. Feels like the camera is attached to one of those bobble head figurines and someone flicked it. If you could remove that feature in a future version that would be great.

I also noticed that.

I did the same and tried again but it still crashes
That's weird. I did exactly what Bakern did: made a copy of the chunk folder, deleted the original, replaced it with the one in the zip file and then restarted the game. Though I have noticed when I exit the game it sends a crash report. Which version of the mod are you trying to use, the v1.1.0 or v1.1.1?

Borderless Window + Standard Vsync + Shadows to the minimum should solve all stutter issues.
That setting tanks my performance to about 80fps to 40fps, is this normal? I have GTX970 4g and i5 3750, and the game feels janky even that Afterburner and Fraps are showing about 80fps, and when i change Borderless Window it shows about 40fps, really strange.

I tried it and I haven"t noticed a big difference.
On the video you posted it looks better.
I didn't played a lote cause as described above, there is this wobbling camera effect when you hit.
It's very ennoying.
Hope you can add more weight on the cars and more back inertia like RBR.
Can't wait to test your improved and fixed version ;)

Goodnight everyone. I will answer a little about all the comments I have been reading these days.
On the subject of physics, it is a very early version where different things have been tested, such as a little more weight, centers of gravity ... etc. But it is still beginning and much remains to be added. I have uploaded it because many asked for new cameras to try them. The problem with the physics in this game is that all cars share many parts of the physics, and if you modify one, you change the behavior of all the cars in the game, so you have to change it slowly and carefully. For example with the issue of weight, you can not add much weight to the WRC because if you do the WRC Junior not or move. It is a matter of adjusting until you find the exact value. A much more improved next version is already underway, (also fixed the camera problem when hit) where the physics are more polished.

Where else you can notice the changes is that the car no longer flies so much when it jumps or usually does strange things in accidents.
But I repeat that it is only the first version and there is still much to add and improve. The WRC7 mod took me almost a year to do it and with this I just started. You just have to be patient.
Icebob2016 how are you friend? ... long ago of those mods, but I'm glad someone remembers them.
Greetings to all and anything do not hesitate to comment to be able to improve the game with your opinions and advice.

i5 2500k at 4.4ghz with Radeon RX580 8GB, no issues but I turn off the annoying extras. No dof and bloom and other stupid crap (thank god I can disable it in this game). Using the highest TAA+whatever combo option, with sharpening.
I use bonnet cam mostly because cockpit is annoying unless you have many screens.

Now that you mention it, I did kinda feel like the car was behaving better when going over jumps especially consecutive jumps. High five for taking the time to make this.

I didn't delete the original folder, just replaced the files inside. Maybe that can be the issue?
