Referral Problem!

So I just got 2 of my friends to sign up to iRacing and refer to me. Are the credits suppose to come straight away? How do I know if they actually referred to me? Do I get an email? Please help. Thanks.

Here goes:

Invite friends to join, tell your friends to put the email you used to register your own iRacing account in the "Referring Member Email" field when they purchase a paid subscription. iRacing will send you a promotional code worth $xx for each confirmed new member referral.

Note: for new subscriptions only, referrals do not work with renewals.

Maybe someone can confirm this?
