That Designer Guy?
New year, new season of RDRC!

Welcome to Season 7 of the RaceDepartment Rally Championship!

The time is upon us to start thinking towards Season 7 now. We are all looking forward to seeing how it will all unfold this year :)

The rules are undergoing a big revamp, we will see a few things changed, and a few things added. But hopefully we can get them all worked out well.

Please feel free to give us your ideas and what you would like to see in Season 7! We will do our best to work them out and hope for a great season.

Still working out what we want to do with the car classes this year, it needs a bit of a shakeup due to low numbers in the lower classes..

Sooooo...
Are anyone looking to change classes/cars this season? Anyone sniffing at R5? RWD? NGP, maybe?

I had great fun with the Ford Escort MKII when I used that in several rallies last year, and that is one of the cars I'm looking at for this season. I also have fallen in love with the Peugeot 208 T16, so I'm not really certain what to drive just yet.
I even had lots of fun with the Audi A2 Quattro in the NGP-pack... Decicions, decicions...

Any fedback on the rallys themselves? What worked? What didn't?

Time to start the speculations :)

Well, here is my oppinion :)

What I think worked:

- RDRC-2 it was fantastic this season with a lot of drivers participating and many different winners

- 12 round year long championship, I like that it's like WRC and it rewards participation.

- having the chance to choose from many different car classes

- The new look of the championship, it was a nice touch and I loved the event posters at the start.

- The championship's format, I think the 10-14 stage rallies and the option to race at different times is a nice thing.

- The roadbooks, they ussually were challenging but with not very uncommon stages.

- Rally world that's always a nice thread

- The participants

- The organizers

- John's comment's :roflmao:

There are of course a lot more nice things about the championship those are the ones I remember at the top of my head

What I think didn't work:

- RDRC-3 only 3 drivers.

- Manufacturer teams, Bonus cups

-The round that was postponed

-the Fiestas, the Polos and the Minis in WRC, I know this is not the organizers fault, we had 2 Fiestas, 3 Polos and 7 DS3 WRC this has been mentioned before in previous seasons but very few people actually chose anything other than a DS3 in WRC

- The Pikes peak non-scoring round, I think there was supposed to be a pikes peak event in RDRC, I think there was one in the rally club so forgive me if that was the actual event.

- The Rally Norway thread is 7 pages long and the Wales Rally thread is 2 pages long, again not the organizers fault.

What I miss/Suggestions:

- last season Ole made a post about RDRC on the front page about the Wales Rally, I think that was a great thing, I suggest promoting the championship more so more people find out about it and join, overall that's my suggestion, championship promotion.

- The event posters at the start

- The highlights, yeah I know they take tons of work but I think we all loved them.

well that's my 2 cents :)

Cheers

It worked out pretty well. I guess due to the amount of different cars you could choose! :)

While I agree with that, the drop-off is way to large sadly. It might be that the summer and winter seasons get separated totally - and we end up with two shorter seasons instead. To keep the numbers higher.
- having the chance to choose from many different car classes
We will always try to have as many different classes as possible
- The new look of the championship, it was a nice touch and I loved the event posters at the start.
Thanks to the fantastic Jack Hintz - who moved halfway around the world during the season, and that got priority :)
- The championship's format, I think the 10-14 stage rallies and the option to race at different times is a nice thing.
The number of sessions, might be shrunken down to 10 instead of 12, this due to the amount of stages one person can make at once at rallyesim, and therefor reduce the chance of sessions with different weather (human error) - there is sessions where we've had 0.6 drivers per session the past season.
The rallies might also get more variated when it comes to length, both shorter than 10, and longer than 14 is possible.

- The roadbooks, they ussually were challenging but with not very uncommon stages.
Will continue! :)
- Rally world that's always a nice thread
Indeed!
- The participants
Yes Sir! Without you guys there would not be any RDRC!
- The organizers
:x3::inlove::giggle:
- John's comment's :roflmao:

What I think didn't work:

- RDRC-3 only 3 drivers.

- Manufacturer teams, Bonus cups
Correct. Jacksorta adresses this in his post :)
-The round that was postponed
RDRC-Crew error. Should not happen. Sorry again!
-the Fiestas, the Polos and the Minis in WRC, I know this is not the organizers fault, we had 2 Fiestas, 3 Polos and 7 DS3 WRC this has been mentioned before in previous seasons but very few people actually chose anything other than a DS3 in WRC
Yup!

Ye, both down to the number of drivers, both in summer holiday, and due to a long season!

The plan was to keep on doing that, but with the change of style on the RD site, and therefor the way thing got published on the frontpage, meant that it would not be possible - but trust me I worked for it. This is however mandatory for RD-leagues in 2015 ;) So that WILL happen! :)
- The event posters at the start

well that's my 2 cents :)

Also things that are mandatory for RD-leagues in 2015. We MUST do them, or RDRC is gone ;)

I loved rallys with newer stages.. So fun to blast stages that aint original Richard burns.

I had a blast in RDRC-2 this season. many drivers :)

10 stages per event is enough in my opinion. Takes so long time when stages climb to 12+

Two - maby three classes maximum.Maybe a historic class? Must prevent drivers to spreading to much.. Fun to have someone to compete against.

Videos are :) keep em coming..

Altho I only managed to make 1 round last season, I think it was great. Only thing that would make it even better is the highlights, but its not like Id die without them ;)

I actually found RRC vehicles very suitable for my style of driving during last week and I would like to compete as well. Hope to see you on track/TS soon.
