Too late for me on weekdays but could use this track learning curve experience. :D

Yup, scratch me down as tail light of the field. ..... 3 Laps... aprox. 60 minutes... :D

I thought I had memorized the Nordschleife but after about 20 attempts I have finished 0 timed laps. An awful lot of the last half seems pretty unfamiliar.

I know these troubles you see the first half an awful lot more often. You have to first finish a few laps and then raise the pace so you have time to memorize the second half.

"Remember the name! Tommy Vercetti!"
The 2nd half of the lap goes something like this for me:

Oh yeah looks like 4th gear through here oh oh oh no no no no no, too fast too fast, where did that corner come from? ARRRRR WALLLL. And back to the pits cause the front of the car is missing.
