If there's a discrepancy, please post your times ASAP so we're not adjusting times over 24 hours later.
  • You must stick with the same car throughout the rally - if you change, your times for those stages will be defaulted.
  • If you are new to Richard Burns Rally, we have provided a set of guidelines to help you get up and running: Here and Here

Our next Rally is open for sign-up.

This Rally is a Group N Challenge with a Team twist. European Team vs Oceania Team.

We will be driving a selection of four Group N cars which are well matched and relatively stable to drive. The Lancer and Subaru are more stable for inexperienced drivers, but the Skoda and Ford are less stable, but ok with a slight adjustment to the brake bias (move it forward).

The Stages cover many of the default Countries and will be all gravel. There is a mix of fast flowing and tighter Stages, but the weather will be perfect for all Stages to make it more fun for inexperienced drivers.

The Team Challenge: This one is a fun Team Challenge to add some interest. Drivers must nominate for their Team based on their Country (not which timezone Rally they join) . Non Europeans or Oceanians are free to choose either Team. Points will be allocated based on finishing positions in each Stage, plus bonus points for the Overall Result.

Points: (dependent on the size of the grid). Example based on 10 drivers:
P10 = 1 point, P9 = 2 pts, P8 = 3 pts, etc to P1 = 10 pts. The same bonus points for the overall Rally.
All drivers score points for their Team, even if one Team has more drivers (the bigger the Team, the better its chances). Drivers must finish the Stage to score points.

Highest points Team is the winner.

If requests are made for any additional timezones, we will try to include them ( but within the Monday/Tuesday periods).

Good luck all, and hope we see a good roll up. Make sure you support your Team. :rally:

Don’t forget to save your replays for the Rally video. Send your replays to John at elmomarty@bigpond.com . He is specially looking for those classic records of your epic crashes or any interesting or funny experiences. Or maybe you have a replay of a Stage you are especially proud of.

A little video to help you see what is in store for you.

Senad's team? With a name like that, how could we not fail :D

Anyway, sounds interesting, looking forward to see how the points turn out. I love the car choices, off to test each car now :).

Senad Subasic (mfodor)
European Team
Europe Timezone Rally

EDIT: Impreza suits me best.

Hmm Would I be able to sign up for team Europe? I'm quite new to rallying and Haven't done a online race yet so this would be my first so any tips would be great.

Lee Palmer - The name in brackets I take is the RSBR Login name? If so (Mrtk56)
I'll be in the European rally time please.

Sign me up, but i'll need a different timezone. Tuesday Morning around 8am AEST would be the best for me.

Rick Bamford (lucifer)
OC Team

Rick, I have added an extra Rally - RD Grp N Challenge OCX , starting at 22:00GMT Monday (8:00 AM Tuesday AEST) for you. Please let us know if that time slot doesn't suit you.

Hi Warren, could you please sign me up for the Europe team, but OC timezone please :)

Chris Butcher (SpeedDemon)

Hopefully I now have my computer issues sorted :)

I'm quite new to rallying and Haven't done a online race yet so this would be my first so any tips would be great.

Hi Lee, great to have you join us, even if you are in the opposing team to me.

The most important tips are to firstly make sure you know all about how RSRBR2010 works. I assume you have installed and tested it, since you have your username already.
However, just in case, here are the relevant guidelines / tutorials in our RBR Forum:

http://www.racedepartment.com/richard-burns-rally/31470-rsrbr2010-installing-using-guidelines.html

http://www.racedepartment.com/richard-burns-rally/31893-tutorial-playing-rsrbr2010-on-line.html

There are a few other useful things in the RBR Forum, check out the Sticky threads.

As for driving tips, DONT CRASH !! :D:D:D Much easier said than done though. My advice is to not drive the way you would in normal track racing ie. GTL / Race On / rF. Don't try to drive flat out all the time. These cars require more subtle control, earlier and more gradual braking, and steady throttle control through the tighter turns. Don't be afraid to let the tail hang out and get sideways, that's the fun of Rallying. Learning to use the handbrake can be critical and takes time to learn, but the Rally School Lessons are most valuable. If you haven't already, I'd highly recommend completing the RBR Rally School.

Good luck mate, but most importantly, have fun, don't let the difficulty frustrate you.
One more, since it is your first Rally, I'd recommend the Subaru or Lancer (more stable).

Oh and watch out for the Mineshaft jump, looool.

Sign me up please, John Low ( elmomarty ) - OC team and time

Would love to run with Rick on tuesday am but have a regular gig at the hospital getting my foot seen to by a specialist.

And thanks for the plug about the replays. Am having fun with that stuff and will slowly get more creative.

Cheers

Sign me up please.
Steve Emmons (dratpons) - Euro timezone, Warren's team (just to even things up a bit)

Love the Subaru, but think I will give the Skoda a try since I've never driven it before.
