Our next Rally is open for sign-up.

Fernando has stepped up again and offered one of his Rallys. This time he has gone soft on us, instead of providing a fiendish test, he has opted for something quite different and more "relaxed".

We stay with the RWD cars again, but will use the classic old Ford Escort Mk1, a car very much loved by Rally enthusiasts and still seen in some local Rallys around the world today.
The car presented in RSRBR2012 is very basic, the modelling is not great, and the "canary yellow" livery is a bit hard on the eyes, but it is still a fun car to drive. For those who struggle with the yellow livery, there is a nicer one here, which can be easily installed using the Skin Manager:
http://forum.rallyesim.fr/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=133

It has the expected RWD handling, but is very much under-powered, so it is quite easy to drive. However, you need to keep up momentum to squeeze any good times out of it.

We again stay on gravel surfaces, which best suit these RWD classics. We have included one of the new Stages, Swiss Gravel, for the final stage.

To prove how soft Fernando has gone, he even kept the weather perfect.

DRIVER BRIEFING NOTES:

1. This car is typical RWD, but much slower. It is quite easy to handle, but will require skill to keep momentum up to achieve good times. It will also roll pretty easily on the bumpy stages too. Recovery from a spin into grass, or recovering from a standing start up a small hill, can also be a challenge (or even impossible), so some care is necessary to keep on the main road.

2. RBR Pacenotes are designed for default cars, Normal conditions and Good weather. Please remember to adjust your speeds to suit these cars.

3. Tyre selections are the drivers responsibility. If you use the automatic tyre selection option in RSRBR2011, please beware that sometimes it may give you the wrong tyre for the conditions. Always double check your tyres, it is critical, especially for Snow Stages.

4. You will definitely need RSRBR2012 Update 06 for this Rally , since we are using Swiss Gravel for the final Stage.

If requests are made for any additional timezones, or changes to Start times to better suit your local needs, we will try to include them ( but within the Monday/Tuesday periods).

Thanks to Fernando for designing this Rally.
Special thanks to Damien for another of his nice Banners.

Good luck all, let's hope you enjoy cruising around in the old Ford Veteran. :)

Fernando has made a brief intro video to highlight the old Escort and give a sneak peak into the new Swiss Stage.

This should also bring back some "fond" memories for Senad (remember your Noiker saga trying to climb one of the mild hills ). ;)

And for anyone wanting a good laugh, here is the video evidence (Senad's after Event video from the last time we drove this car a couple of years ago) : :D:whistling:
Yes, we were very "casual" back then. :)

All the stages and everything look great, sucks that physics are just rubbish, its far too easy to roll :(
also, LOL video!

:roflmao: It's really is the opposite of my brutal challenges huh? :D

I thought the car's physics would still be a big challenge so I guess it's better for everyone to enjoy it on perfect condition, the aim is to just enjoy driving and I'm gonna enjoy this with the H-Shifter :).

That is why I didn't include any tarmac stage! I was also planning to include the new stage Akagi but during the test run on the very first tight turn I immediately rolled :roflmao:.

The car is not perfected for extreme competition so if you push you'll definitely get into trouble. Just slow down! and enjoy driving, it's best to finish all stages with a clean run than pushing hard and get stuck which can cause you a lot of time. So good luck everyone :).

Where is your sense of adventure and fun Jack? :cautious::D
It is possible to keep this car under control ok if you drive accordingly. Last time we ran it, I didn't have any crashes. :p

It does introduce some "unusual" characteristics, but that just adds to the fun if you don't take it too seriously. Big tip, stay on the gravel and avoid the grass.

BTW Fernando, using good weather for this one is a good choice.
