I must admit I lost track of what day we were on at the begining of the week so I think that's why I missed this event going up....

Dear Diary,

Went racing w/ the big boys today in the really big cars! Raced at Brno which was a great flowing track w/ a couple of really greasy corners to kekep you honest. Ran some recon laps day before the event to get the map down and see what a 1 stop load of fuel would be like.

got no practice time as Martial arts Training is on Thursdays so I rolled in last minute for Q. Dropped in 7th and was pleased.

Start was a bit touchy for me as usual. I am always extra cautious to not spin out in front of the field and maybe get a lap in to warm the bricks before I push. This really great guy Sean Vohs passed me and got off a nice lead on me L1. I peeked back couple of time to see if I was badly holding anyone up during L1 and thought I was ok and not slowing anyone up.

managed to reel in sean from 2.4 back after L1. Maybe his MOJO flew out the trunk during theopeneing lap. SO i was up his bumper pretty good and trying to find a clean way to pass. I 'd rather beat a guy off the corner down the straight than try the bonzai out braking maneuver into a corner. Well I got a little too greedy on the throttle off a corner and ended up banging up the front while he sailed away....damn it! I wonder if he even re,members me on his bumper in the opening laps?

So I pit and take my full load of fuel, 4 tires and fix all the aero/suspension stuff. 40 seconds on jacks. so now I have to run out the race no stop and see if the pit cycle will get me up in position. well I picked up one spot and ran solid consistent low 57-high 56 and was making gains on the car ahead.

The damn team kept asking me to pit for low fuel w/ 5 to go. I ignored them as I had taken an additional 13 laps of fuel after L2 so I gotta be good here!

let a couple of the leaders through uninhibited by watching that rear camera and track map.

and then the fuel ran out w/ 3 to go!

note to self, you can't get 23 laps out of a full tank!

I still had fun and will participate again!
