RaceRoom WTCR Golf Preview 1.jpg

The final preview image of the upcoming WTCR DLC for RaceRoom Racing Experience is here - give a warm RD welcome to the mighty VW Golf GTI TCR...

The VW group have had something of a troubled time over the last few years, dieselgate and a mass exodus for brands under the VW Group umbrella across a variety of different racing series having been the highlights (or should that be lowlights) of the last few seasons.

However with the every increasingly popular TCR regulations now taking something of a foothold in racing series across Europe and further afield, the troubled German brand are making a rather impressive comeback thanks to the potent little Golf GTI TCR, securing wins in numerous national TCR championships as well as fielding an impressive couple of cars for former WTCC champion Rob Huff and team mate Mehdi Bennani, although the 2018 season isn't quite shaping up the way either team or driver would like, the Golf nevertheless still represents a race winning threat, and can't quite be ruled out of the championship hunt this season.

The Golf reveal today marks the final car announcement before the new DLC is set to drop alongside a new RaceRoom update tomorrow (Wednesday), and I can assure you now the wait for this new pack of cars will very much be worthwhile... watch out for a new 'talk n drive' video tomorrow with the WTCR pack, it's a blast!

So with all seven cars now shown, all we have to do is sit back and await the fun to begin!

Raceroom still seems to be its unstable buggy self like it usually is after an update, slow loading, content server errors, error 503......probably worthwhile waiting a little longer so it balances itself out as usual.

Yep the store is buggy as usual after updates, but I just managed to purchase the WTCR package for 12.something Euros - as I had 198 vRP in my account. So dirt cheap for the entire 7 cars and 25 liveries. And then my kids occupied my computer, so I cannot try the new stuff out, until later tonight.

I certainly feel these are worthwhile. hopefully some decent tracks next. or maybe even BTCC!

EDIT, just took the S3 out and it feels totally different, heavier, less twitchy but stable.

EDIT 2: in fact, all the cars seem to have a distinctive character and style, I would go so far as to say more so than any other series they have, even after the GT3 re structure. that now seems flat and lifeless in comparison.
