Sector3 Studios have deployed a new update for their RaceRoom Racing Experience simulation - including the release of the Zhejiang International Circuit DLC.

The Zhejiang Circuit is available to purchase from the RaceRoom Store for £4.17, and comes in both Grand Prix and East Circuit configurations - 3.2km and 1.54km in length respectively.

One of the more recent tracks in Chinese motorsport history, the 16 turn circuit was opened to the public back in 2016, and has since hosted rounds of the TCR International Series and Asian Le Mans Series, as well as several regional and national racing events.

As is tradition with Sector3 Studios, the new DLC launches alongside a major game update for the simulation - with a number of fixes and improvements having been deployed to the software that addresses a number of physics and gameplay issues within the title.

Update details:
Download size = 312 MB
Client version = 0.9.0.923
Client BuildID = 4695656
Dedicated server version = 58.0.1083
Dedicated server BuildID = 4695721

New Content: Zhejiang International Circuit

Changelist:
  • Reputation - Incident points cooldown has been increased from 3 seconds to 4 seconds to limit escalation after being pushed out of the track.
  • Reputation - Player now receives one incident point for invalidating a lap.
  • Reputation - Just after a 4 seconds cooldown, we are now ignoring further incidents for track object collisions, going off-track and losing control until the car has rejoined the track.
  • Option - The headrests of the cockpit seat were reportedly annoying for VR users as the camera was clipping through, so we added an option to toggle the rendering of the driver seat.
  • Controllers - Added a profile for the Xbox gamebad when connected through bluetooth
  • Controllers - Thrustmaster and Logitech wheels - Tweaked force exponent, max output and front wheel grip exponents to increase FFB feel in subtle effects
  • Fixed controller profiles for Bodnar cable and Fanatec CSW 2.5 to prevent some detection issues.
  • Fixed controller profile for the Thrustmaster T500 that was missing lines for Flatspot effects
  • Fixed Car Setup menu that wasn't hiding the differential settings for cars that do not allow changing them.
  • Fixed Car Setup menu not saving the differential setting for frontwheel driven cars
  • Fixed puffs of smoke and brake marks left by players with high latency
  • Fixed blinking of high latency opponent cars in multiplayer. It will now only cease to render the car if the opponent's latency is consistently above 1 second.
  • Fixed AI control in pitlane that could sometimes accelerate the car above the pitlane speed limit.
  • Fixed free flight camera that wouldn't work under certain conditions in the race monitor.

Content updates:
  • Smoothed revlimiter and pit speed limiters logics for a selection of cars that were problematic.
  • Red Bull liveries that were urgently replaced last update now have an updated image in menu and website.
  • Audi TT cup - AI tuning
  • Audi TT VLN - Added more gear ratio options
  • BMW M3 GT2 - Fixed the rear camber that was asymmetrical in default setup
  • BMW M6 GT3 - Fixed two esport liveries that had swapped renders in menu.
  • Canhard R52 - Fixed Launch Control that was wrongly available for this car
  • GT4 cars - AI tuning
  • KTM GT4 - Tweaks to damage, tweaked its clutch for better standing starts
  • Porsche 934 RSR - Added more gear ratio options
  • WTCC Chevrolet Cruze - Fixed a wrong tyre file
  • WTCC 15/16/17 - Updated suspension to improve toe control
  • Imola - Modified cut corridors a bit to try and get rid of a wrong cut detection on the start/finish area.

They couldn't go to China and laser scan this time due to Corona, but the track looks so natural and not artificial with all this elevation changes and natural terrain. One more thing out of topic, I loved that chrome paint on that car.

You were probably joking but making a track takes several months beginning with a laser scan. There was no Corona several months ago. Plus I find it hard to believe they made a track without someone visiting to take photos etc. Sector 3 have just opted not to use laser scans for almost all their tracks. I'm sure they have their reasons.

I don't know how they decide the tracks whether its down to a few people or an individual but they pretty much have my taste in tracks down to a T.
Well, they seem to have an unofficial tradition of releasing lesser-known tracks that don't feature much, if at all, in other sims. Other than that, it's probably mostly to do with money and licensing fees.

@Lars Hansen :thumbsup:
I was asking because your posting implied that also "bigger" cars/more powerfull cars fits on this track - at least in RL.
Problem is though that its often difficult to conclude car fitting for a track taking reference from RL.

Very true. But that's unfortunately all I can contribute with.
Haven't turned a lap on it yet in the sim (nor Ningbo or Bilsterberg, for that matter). Simply not enough hours in the day.

But looking at the layout of it, I don't think you'd have fun running the FR90s on it.
It's only a little over 3 kilometers long, almost half of which is the S-turns.
So GT3s and F3s, yes. But I suspect anything much more powerful than that is going to struggle a bit.
But as I said, I haven't actually been on it yet, so take that with more than a grain of salt. :)

That, and both Ningbo and Zhejiang have been part of either the WTCR or the Asian TCR calendar.
The Asian TCR 2020 runs at Sepang, Zhuhai, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Bangsaen, so we're only one track away from being able to simulate the season. :)

As I wrote before, I don’t think that this track is suitable for very powerful cars. The slow section requires a light car that doesn’t accelerate brutally and the straights aren’t that long so top speed isn’t an advantage.

I ran a 20 minute WTCR race on it yesterday and had a blast!

Totally disagree with such a diffuse and empty generalisation.
The only reason I follow forums as this one is because people often post some valuable info about sims that I didnt know or didnt think about.
A good example of this is the post above by @michelforest which exactly fullfill my asking for some honest oppinion about this new track.

CatsAreTheWorstDogs: I dont think your thoughts about the mandatory bias of "feedbackers" is a complete gamechanger for my reading of posts in this (and other) fora. Hehe not a complete one :)

I have to shake the rose to smell the perfume.
Yes, it's not as bad as the impact I tried to make.
But still true that sim racing is one of the few domains that enters 2020 without completely independent un-sponsored consumer reports.

Your comments gives valuable inputs to me.

Because I had the same hesitant thoughts before I bought the tiny Bilsterberg.
In the beginning testing it out with my favorites (3x FR90xx) I just thought dammit what a waste of money.
But then after some heavy practicing I ended up on top of the LBs for all 3 FR90 cars (hehe bragging:laugh:) and ended up with a hate/love relationship with this track/car combination.
Because I still find it pretty tricky avoiding picnic time:rolleyes:

So I will probably/maybe end up buying this Micky Mouse track too.
So thank you for your feedback guys.

Sector 3 have just opted not to use laser scans for almost all their tracks. I'm sure they have their reasons.

I suspect it is cost and with the tracks in recent years it isn't probably necessary with the technological advancements in topographic maps. Tracks that were built in the 1900's probably lack some of the details required to get an authentic result in a sim. Having said that laser scanning does capture some of the nuances as to winter heaves, cracks and overall track surfaces. None of those things mean as much to me as the chances of me to experiences those IRL to compare is a mute point.

It's funny, you haven't tried the track yet, but your comments are spot on, they describe the experience I've had so far with this track. I really feel that it's perfect for the WTCC/WTCR cars, like Ningbo.

Quick question. Wasn't this track teased over 1 year ago? am i wrong or has this single chinese track been in development for QUITE a long time? I recall seeing teasers for a chinese racetrack too time ago.
You're probably talking about the teasers for Zhuhai:

I did! Thanks!

Quickly becoming by #2 favorite sim. I'll keep screaming from the rooftops though for someone to please, pretty please with sugar on top, get Thunderhill Raceway created and released. Would have thought one of the developers would have done it by now.
