Well, posted an article about SimBin from the Swedish magazine NyTeknik in the Swedish part of the forum. Last part in the article mentions a game for Xbox 360. Here's a quick translation:

"SimBin's games has today been released for PC only but soon a new game for Xbox 360 will be revealed together with a new big publisher. The new partner and the name of the game will be announced soon."

Release date might be as early as this autumn according to another article..

At the Interactive Digital & Entertainment Festival in Cannes, THQ revealed plans to bring Simbin’s RACE simulation to Microsoft’s XBOX 360 gaming console. Entitled RACE 360, the game will feature 350 cars and 15 tracks which sounds pretty much like the RACE 07 content. Furthermore, the game will feature 12-player online multiplayer feature via XBOX Live, offline racers will be giving a splitscreen mode to compete head to head RACE 360 will be the first serious simulation for XBOX 360 owners, enriching the choice of racing games with a proven name in the simulation world. Scheduled to be released in November, this marks the second try to launch a Simbin product for the console market. GTR for XBOX was planned to feature the 2005 FIA GT season, the game was eventually dropped by THQ and probably scrapped by Simbin, even though this has never been confirmed.
Since the PC version of race uses Image Space Inc’s gMotor engine, this opens all doors for speculations if RACE 360 will be the first game to utilise Simbin’s much discussed new Lizard engine

i think it is indeed the lizard engine
if you compare this middle photo

so it must be pretty nice along the way....yes now hopefully we can see the engine also on the next simbin's pc game (after evo most likely)

My hopes are also for a PC game with their new engine. Although I enjoy the x360 much, PC racing is still better for me.
I will buy the game anyway ;) just as I did with Grid :)

As seen on Simbin.com:

We are issuing this statement to counter false rumours currently circulating on the internet regarding a new X360 game.
We do have plans for an upcoming X360 game and an official announcement from Simbin will follow shortly with correct information on title and publisher.
To clarify on a specific point, THQ is not the publisher of our upcoming X360 game.
The information currently circulating is incorrect, said Magnus Ling, Vice President, Simbin Studios.

Another quote from Simbin:

“We do have plans for an upcoming X360 game and an official announcement from Simbin will follow shortly with correct information on title and publisher. The information currently circulating is incorrect.”

Lol Ross that is the same quote! :)

But as said so many times check the official Simbin site a bit more often.

Neverminds quote was from this article btw. And nothing there speaks of THQ.

Atari announces RACE Pro (+ screenshots)

:amen:As they say, there is always some underlying truth to a rumour. Atari has announced the new SimBin title “RACE Pro”. Basically it brings many of the cars and tracks from GTR Evolution including WTCC, Formula 3000, Mini Challenge and the GT and production class cars. There are also 13 tracks, including new American speedways which are Laguna Seca and Road America. There is also the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife track. As we can see here so far, the falseness of the last rumours only were in the title, not the rest of the game.

Atari also confirms that the game is using the new Lizard graphics engine. Multiplayer allows for 12 players per session over the XBOX LIVE system. There is also the “Hot Seat” feature which allows for shared driving (one driver passing on to another) during races.
Here are some official screen shots as well:

RACE Pro offers a wealth of cars ranging from 200 to over 1000 horse power, as well as a host of championships including WTCC (World Touring Car Championship), Formula 3000 and Formula BMW. GT cars from manufacturers including Aston Martin and Saleen take their place on the grid as well as production cars such as the Audi R8 and Dodge Viper SRT10. In addition, RACE Pro is exclusively bringing all the WTCC cars from manufacturers Alfa Romeo, BMW, Chevrolet and Seat to Xbox 360 for the very first time. For a blast of accessible fun, the Mini Cooper Challenge invites players of all abilities to take the wheel.

Gamers and racing fans alike will experience the thrill of racing these powerful cars on 13 real life tracks covering all continents, of which Macau, Porto and Pau are exclusive to RACE Pro, and US tracks Laguna Seca and Road America are brand new to SimBin fans.

"With five years worth of experience under SimBin's belt, RACE Pro ensures a unique racing experience unlike anything seen before on console," said Cyril Voiron, VP Brand Management, Worldwide Publishing, Atari. "Nothing gets you closer to the ultimate racing sensation than RACE Pro and Atari is proud to add this product to our holiday line-up."

"Having personally taken the leap from 20 years of championship racing to racing simulation development, I am really excited for SimBin to be taking its own leap from PC to Xbox 360," said Henrik Roos, CEO, SimBin Studios AB. "We are proud to be taking this significant move with Atari, our trusted partner since our very first game."

Online play via Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network for Xbox 360 and System Link support lets up to 12 players take on equally high-powered opponents and test their skills to the limit to reach the finish line ahead of the pack. For friends closer to home, the brand new 'Hot Seat' feature puts players in the driving seat for a limited amount of time before passing the controller to the next player and so on, demanding exceptionally quick reactions and precision racing from even the most seasoned drivers.

Nothing gets closer than RACE Pro, the ultra real racing simulation game exclusive to Xbox 360, scheduled for release this fall 2008.
