Race #18, Abu Dhabi: Race Briefing

Welcome to the 18th and penultimate round of FSR 2010 World Series. Before proceeding to the event, pay attention to the following:
  • Qualifying will be run in Private mode. This means that you will be alone on track. This decision was made to prevent slipstreaming in the session.
  • The pitexit line only starts when the red/white area near the end of the pitexit ends. http://z.ip.fi/~mipuumal/TTT/pitexit.jpg. As long as you don't touch the white line after the red marker in the screenshot, you won't be penalized with a pitexit cut.
  • Due to the allocation count being less than than 27, no pre-qualifying session is organized as per article 5.9. Every listed driver below is entitled to proceed immediately to Q1.

Saturday, 16:30 GMT: G1 Qualifying
Saturday, 16:50 GMT: G1 Warmup

The Free Practice session will be 10 minutes in length. Every participating driver should join as soon as possible after the server opens to make sure that they don't miss the start of Qualifying and also to make sure that their game is configured & working properly.

The Qualifying session will be 15 minutes in length. It will be run in Private mode (all cars will be visible on track at the same time) with Parc Ferme enforced. Parc Ferme will only allow you to change your fuel load, tire compound, engine boost, engine brakemap, front wing angle, steering lock, brake balance and brake pressure after the session is over, so make sure you have your race setup loaded when entering Qualifying. Like Pre-Qualifying, this session will also be closed, this means that it will impossible for people to join while the session is running.

The Warmup session will be 10 minutes in length. While in the garage, make sure you add the appropriate amount of fuel in to your car for the race. Remember, refueling is banned. You can drive freely in the Warmup session to try to get a feel for the heavier car after qualifying on low fuel.

The Race will be 55 laps long. Drive safely during the race, especially at the start and the first lap in general.

Red Flags will NOT be used unless in very specific situations which are specified in the rule documents. In case of light-moderate first lap incidents, a Safety Car may be deployed. The Safety Car period will last 3 laps and there will be no passing during these laps. Keep a safe distance to the car in front, but do not hold up the rest of the pack. The Safety Car will not be used for any incidents which happen after the first lap.
