Race #16, Suzuka: Race Briefing

Welcome to the 16th race of the 2010 Auto GP Formula SimRacing World Championship season in Japan.

IMPORTANT!

A couple of rule clarifications requested for this round:

1. No slipstreaming in Qualifying - Basicly if you are following another car on an outlap, leave a decent gap before the final corner to make sure you aren't in the slipstream, and if you are on an outlap with people on a hotlap coming up behind you, pull off the racing line and slow down enough for them to pass you safely.

2. No cutting on your pit-in & pit-out laps - Pitlaps normally go over the 101.5% mentioned in the rules so in theory this could be an easy thing to exploit. Any cut on an in/outlap will be counted as a cutlap. A big cut (0.5-1s advantage or more) will be penalized heavily.

As usual, you can find the password for this event by logging on GPCOS and looking at the password field which is next to the server's IP address.

Schedule:
Sunday, 17:00 GMT: Server opens for Practice
Sunday, 17:25 GMT: Qualifying
Sunday, 17:50 GMT: Warmup
Sunday, 18:00 GMT: Race Start
The Free Practice session will be 25 minutes in length. Every participating driver should join as soon as possible after the server opens to make sure that they don't miss the start of Qualifying and also to make sure that their game is configured & working properly.

The Qualifying session will be 20 minutes in length. Drivers who allocated past the deadline will NOT be allowed to post a lap time, they will instead start from the back of the grid. Qualifying will be run in non-Private mode (all cars will be visible on track at the same time) with Parc Ferme enforced. Parc Ferme will only allow you to change your fuel load, tire compound, engine boost, engine brakemap, front wing angle, steering lock, brake balance and brake pressure after the session is over, so make sure you have your race setup loaded when entering Qualifying. The session will NOT be closed, meaning if you happen to join late, or for some reason drop out of the server during the session, you can still join.

The Warmup session will be 10 minutes in length. While in the garage, make sure you add the appropriate amount of fuel in to your car for the race. Remember, refueling is banned. You can drive freely in the Warmup session to try to get a feel for the heavier car after qualifying on low fuel.

The Race will be 53 laps long. Drive safely during the race, especially at the start and the first lap in general.

Red Flags will NOT be used unless in very specific situations which are specified in the rule documents. The Safety car will not be available for use.
