R3E news and rumors

So we have a general discount thread (though it's often missed), but as far as I know, there isn't a general news thread to post various small-ish pieces of information that have come up, so I thought it might be a good idea to start one?

So information about the upcoming December patch are starting to appear, and we now have a confirmation that three Porsche cars will indeed be coming with it, with first one being...

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017

The latest incarnation of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is based on the seventh generation of this sports car icon, and it lives up to its calling: uncompromising performance on the race track.
The four-liter six-cylinder boxer unit delivers up to 485 hp.
The drive force is transmitted to the rear axle by six-speed sequential dog-type transmission.
The fate of the 911 GT3 Cup is played out in the Porsche one-make championships, where the only thing that counts is the performance of the individual driver.
While carrying "GT3" in its name, the car has quite different driving characteristics compared to its bigger brother, the GT3 R.
The lack of ABS & Traction control makes it quite a challenge to drive and will put your skills on track to a test.
A special feature of this car are the purple LED lights on the data display, that will warn you about traction loss & locking brakes.

The other two cars should be announced in the coming days according to S3, but it's fairly obvious one of them will be the GT3 R, aka the "proper" GT3 ;)

I think they double count a couple of turns and consider the kink before the start/finish line as one, as well. If I am not mistaken, the full layout has something like 12 turns?
Well that's the strange thing. If you look at Brands Hatch in the store, it says 9 corners. That's clearly wrong for Indy since it should be 5. The full track has... 9 corners. Has the store page always said 9? I don't know, because it's not something I've ever bothered taking any notice of.

The news feed showing old tracks as additions to the store has happened quite a lot of times already. It doesn't mean anything. I'm not sure why it happens, maybe it's because they fixed some typos in the description...

So I have recently been getting back into raceroom, just dumped £32 into it catching up with the content. The physics changes seem to be quite impressive, but I havent seen anything here content wise for a while. IS that side of things slowing down is more content going to come in the future. Everytime I play this more I get more and more impressed.

So what's the big issue with the oval layouts? Is it because they are included in other games that have exclusive rights to those layouts or what? I can't say I'm overly bothered myself because I really don't like oval racing, but I also don't understand how you can have the rights to a whole track minus one layout. :O_o:

Yeah ovals are good for about ten minutes and then I wonder what the hell am I doing this for? I know to each his own, but I digress.

But from what I gathered was that the racing lines of the AI get confused with ovals. Perhaps they think the same?

I was just about to write that. Thanks @FeltHat .

I am hoping oval Ai is something they can patch later, not that I am dying for some oval racing, I do see it as good for variety. I also want to see what I can get out of the Formula US cars on the oval, before a patch for setups happens. That will be interesting to see how the cars fare after such a patch is implemented.
