Slightly Mad Studios have released yet more gameplay footage from the upcoming Project CARS 3 videogame, this time onboard the stunning Porsche 935 at the German Leipzig test track.
  • Project CARS 3 set to release late August.
  • New video on and off board at the German Leipzig track.

As we get ever closer to release month for the new Project CARS 3 racing game, the development team behind the latest release in the franchise have dropped a brand new gameplay video - showcasing the 2019 issue Porsche 935 on a hot lap of the Leipzig Test Track in Germany.

The next Project CARS game has a slightly different flavour than recent editions in the franchise, as Slightly Mad Studios look to open up the game to a wider audience than was previously possible with their simulation focused first two releases. However, despite the addition of various arcade gameplay features, the studio remain adamant that the new title can also appeal to sim racers, with the aid of various game setting tweaks to bring back simulation type handling and performance aspects.

In order to help the community better understand how the game might feel once out on the track, a number of different gameplay videos are set to be released in the coming weeks ahead of launch day, of which the video below is the latest instalment:

The lap of Leipzig joins the already released earlier preview of a 2019 IndyCar at Laguna Seca, and a short trailer of a Corvette on the Interlargos track - all of which are aimed to give players a little bit more insight into how the cars are set to behave out on the track.

So, what do you think of the latest gameplay video? Like the look of the title so far? Excited for release? Let us know in the comments section below!

In other Project CARS 3 news, the studio are soon to release a full list of both cars and circuits set to form the base release version of the title. We've already seen some preview images and footage from such locations as Laguna Seca and Interlargos, plus cars such as the above McLaren and the 2019 Dallara IndyCar, so it will be interesting to see what other content is set to form the initial launch spec of the title once it releases this August 28th - stay tuned for more info!

Project CARS 3 will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC this summer.

Want to discuss this new game with fellow sim racing fans? No worries, head over to the Project CARS 3 sub forum here at RaceDepartment and start up a new thread!

Definitely going to pick it up.

The older I get, and getting pretty damn old now, the more I care about a good career.
I don’t really go online much these days, strangely finding fun with a good progressive career offering XP and money.

This slowing with age trend is moving into real life as well, recently trading my Ducati in for an ADV bike, drinking more coffee and choosing wine over beer. Oh well.

This is NOT what this car sounds like.
SMS continues to bring atrocious fantasy sounds to gamers worldwide.
Good luck with selling that.

Why didn't SMS go mobile platform only with that one - why bother with the tiny PC gamers market?
SMS keeps being a mystery operation in all accounts.

Personally the mere presence of pCars 3 annoys me, because they fooled me out of my money twice already (first time as a Backer, actually), and didn't bother fixing the second one either, like honest sim developers (like Kunos) would do. Instead forward into next scam it is

(Since you asked my motivation to come to this thread). But whatever, carry on

I uninstalled PC2 (bought on sale) after some hours with no regrets because of the atrocious gamepad control and feedback.

PC3 I'll reserve judgement until it's been stress tested in actual users hands.
Gameplay looks like fun tbh (I have plenty of hardcore sims if I need that) but I'm more concerned about whether they've made it enjoyable to drive.

It's a game. Seems a lot of people here don't realise that.

You guys are hilarious.
You're in a Project Cars sub forum of Race Department.
If you go to ACC or iRacing sub forums, there's still discussion about simulation, and those are the most popular sub forums on the site. The overwhelming majority of people on this site are into more expensive/realistic simulation titles.
The most recommended sim on here is literally rFactor 2.

You need to chill out. Someone wanting to buy this for career mode doesn't mean iRacing is going to go out of business lol.

Also, there's nothing wrong with people wanting a good offline career mode. It's one of the reasons I don't regret Project Cars 2. I love playing Career Mode in PC2 in VR. The physics are realistic enough that you have to drive well to win, but the career mode feels really involved. If you want a realistic sim, no one's stopping you from playing rF2, ACC, iRacing or R3E.

Why do we have to keep getting back to this? We got it. You guys love your SIMULATORS. We got it 100%. The message is clear. Why do you feel that you HAVE to repeat this over and over and over? You're not proving anything by stating your dislike towards the PCars franchise with any given chance.
Because of the same thing repeated on every Pc3 posts lately... They lied at the beginning when they talked about "ultimate SIM" ... It never happened !
So now, "we" (SIM extremists), are judging the game on the claim "it's a pure sim" ...

(I'm French) It's like asking for a croissant and you end up with a baguette !! Boom, head chopped off ^_^

Cheers,
Donnie

Ummmm....did I just see 1600 Escorts mixing it with GT3 cars.......??
And I saw old BMW 2002 also, this is so cool simulator...now.

I missed the PC2 but I guess I will buy this one, the car and track list is pretty tempting I can't resist.

I already have brand new computer waiting for next smash hit simulator, hope this is it. I piled up that new computer in June 2019 but not yet used...hopefully now is the time.

Still don't understand why people insist on the "arcade" term, I mean wut? Apart from the classic F355 challenge, arcade games usually mean NO realism whatsoever, Outun, Mario Kart are arcade.

PC3 to me is a casual sim, or Simlite. So not for me, and such a shame as I really like the previous 2. Ben Collins said that there's no "ultimate" grip in any car, it's all about the "squirm" in the tyres, which I presume is the "floaty" feeling many complain about. I think it's right and I'll take Mr Collins "feelings" above sim racers! I just wish SMS wasn't going in the no quali, no tyre wear, no pits direction :(.

For sure it's being shilled right now on youtube by Haye and GM.
Makes you wonder why Turn10 get so much hate when all along apparently this is the perfect why to make a game and target a certain audience.

Like PCars 2 i'll wait a few months and pick it up for £11 though.

Whaaa? Are you serious? I have been playing on a gamepad for the last 3 months due to lack of stock on direct drive wheels. And i can safetly say PC2 is ideal for gamepad. Raceroom NO NO. AMS2 is very good like project cars. Rfactor 2 is not bad indeed. AC is a no no. ACC is actually good but gamepad is just a bain at correcting itself.

I think the market is looking for this kind of racer. If you want full sim go with the others but its nice to have a different angle. My only gripe is that it looks like PC2 with an expansion pack. Hope they sort those jaggies out and handling out.
