I'm not going to be home in time, the wife decided she wanted to go out for dinner tonight.

Just so folks know, I've got the server back to using second practice, so at 19:00 you can vote on the next session, then it should run through the rest as standard.

Four of us showed up to put these cars on a track that would tame them.

Practice, I spent it setting up the car and got it quite nice.
Qualifying, I spent it looking at tire degradation/lap times.

Race, Starting from the back, a good seat for the show, Vadim does not disappoint and I watch a few sparks fly as I swerve to avoid him. I can barely hold onto the gap created between him and I as I watch Reggie disappear behind Zeljko. Just a few laps before we pit and Reggie is off, then out, Zeljko is beyond a speck. He pits and so does Vadim. All race long I've been wondering if I should get tires and gas or just gas. I stay ontrack to watch and feel the tires/laptimes and decide to hold off on a stop for gas. Zeljko comes out of the pit 55 seconds behind me and....stays there for 3-4 laps. He'd got fresh warm tires? He should be charging ahead on me. Running on fumes, I pit and come out I think 12 seconds ahead of Zeljko. Oh boy! All I can do is drive, I know I'll make mistakes, I just can't let them be bad ones and it's kind of working. But, just as he catches up with me, there's that big mistake and he's by. Like only 3 laps left and Vadim is withing 10 seconds and on good tires, back to making NO big mistakes. It works and I hold him off by 2 sec at the line. WHEW!

I can't say the strategy was successful but with a field of 4 down to 3 it did add a lot of suspense to the race and made it a lot of fun for me!

it was interesting to catch up with you, but terribly inconvenient track and pilot error did not allow me to perform well

Dinner and a movie with the wife has to come first on a saturday though,

What we need is a good restaurant, that serves a basic gin n tonic and a nicely cooked swordfish steak w corn on the cob.....oh, we just had that here at home! Being 4-5 hours behind the rest of the world is a good thing sometimes!

Wednesday and Saturday night, we have always made time for each other so its hardly surprising she wanted to do something.
Problem was, she wouldn't agree that taking my laptop was a good idea, so it had to stay at home.

I've been waiting for this game since they announced it in 2007 ^^
I'll be racing some too, just a little less in the first couple of weeks now as I fall into unhealthy levels of immersion and urge to play. ^^
