PP filters for SOL

Any of you guys prefer non Peter"s filters to pair with SOL mod?
What is the reason, and what are possible implication of doing this.
I have heard good things about A3PP, what does it do better?

I use natural filter PP filter for VR. Find it gives more natural colours than SOL. Pretty easy to change filters in CM

With SOL. I removed all vanilla weather options and purely run SOL weathers.

Have tried A3PP in VR, may be I am missing some step but it looks much brighter than _Sol and my performance tanked. Didn't take it further than Benchmark, back to _Sol.

Maybe the NaturalMod-Fork is better (in performance)? To quote Rusty: "now truly performance-hit-less with basically no DOF on the main filter".

Why not turn DOF off in Video settings?

I already did (glare, motion blur and DOF). But maybe he did something else to get more FPS?
