Hey peoples. I decided to go ahead and start the "post your rig" thread, as suggested by Oelmuvun. Basically, post your specs and/or a picture of your computer/laptop or even your controllers.

I don't have a picture but my specs of my PC build are:

  • Intel Celeron E3200 at 2.4Ghz
  • Novatech 2Gb ram
  • Novatech 400W PSU
  • nVidia Geforce GT210 512mb (to be ordered this week, woop!)
  • Seagate Barracuda 250Gb HDD (also to be ordered! :D)
  • Windows 7 (on the way!)

Your turn!!!

  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
  • 4 GB Ram (Brand Corsair)
  • 520 Watt Corsair PSU (HX520W)
  • Sapphire HD 4890 Toxic (1 GB)
  • 650 GB Western Digital Black Caviar HDD (need more money for an SSD - or I hope they get a better price per GB (and more space overall) in the next few months... want to try one badly :D )
  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (want to exchange that one for an Asus Xonar Card - Creatives drivers suck balls)
  • Some lousy Tevion 5.1 System which is dying slowly (need more money to for a Logitech Z5500 or something equal)
  • Some old CRT Screen (Intergraph 21sd95/ did I tell you that I need more money? I guess yeah )
  • G27 (just bought that one and I am ****ing bad at driving with it as opposed to mouse in racer (keyboard in NFS Shift)

No screenys because, well, I have no camera

Now if racer would only support ATI as good as it does support nvidia.

I guess I will lol

  • P4 3.5 ghz Hyper-threading processor
  • 1 GB Ram
  • EVGA GeForce 9600 GSO 1 GB DDR2
  • 350 Watt Dell XPS PSU (not sure exactly the wattage thats a guess)
  • 150 GB Western Digital HDD (yeah I need another one bad)
  • some onboard sound card
  • a set of Yamaha YST-M10 speakers.... from 1994, way better than crappy dell speakers my computer came with
  • Hanns-G HH201 20" LCD widescreen
  • 2 Momo Racing wheels (one is just a clutch the other is steering brakes gas and shifting)
Why yes I have a picture, here it is, in all its hugeness lol

It is a really cheap case but at least it is wide enough to allow for clearance over my CPU heatsink. It also has 120mm fan mounts that my tall case did not :p

I got my parts and installed them successfully. I have been having problems with my Windows 7 install, the boot manager (bootmgr) has.. disappeared. A guy at Novatech technical support has given me some instructions that should fix it.

Hopefully I'll be back playing Racer soon as I'll be having a go at this again as soon as I'm left alone xD

Wow, an Acorn, awesome! :) Was reading up on them a while ago. We have a computer museum where I work/hang out, you might like it: http://racunalniski-muzej.si/en/ Take a look at the gallery :)

Hehe - going for low Cycle freqs? I have at least 4 Commodore C64 here: PAL-machines with 978250kHz (most people think a C64 has 1MHz, but it has slightly less as PAL version, slightly more as NTSC version...) and nowadays the graphics on it rock more than those spectrum thingys...
-> 4x
(
C64(6510 + 2x 6522 + 8580R5 + 6567) <- that's the CMOS-Chips in there
1541(5,25" Floppy) (8502 + 2x8520)
)
