Porsche 'Hall of Legends VR' Coming Soon to Steam

Not quite a racing game, but incredibly cool nevertheless - check out the upcoming 'Porsche Hall of Legends VR' set to appear in a Steam Store near you soon...

Firstly, big thanks to @FeltHat for pointing me in the direction of what the steam page is calling an 'exciting VR brand experience based on momentous stories' of the legendary Porsche brand.

About the Game:

The Hall of Legends is an exciting VR brand experience based on momentous stories: Witness iconic moments from the history of Porsche Motorsport, discover the secrets behind the success of Porsche, and collect the Porsche DNA to unlock the new Porsche Formula E car.

From the past into the future

The main components of the Hall of Legends are five vehicles that symbolize Porsche's decades of success and demonstrate Porsche's innovative character. The vehicles Egger Lohner C.2 Phaeton (1894), 550 Spyder (1954), 917 (1970), Tag Turbo (engine; 1981) and 919 Hybrid (2018) can be virtually explored. Each vehicle offers you information and anecdotes, together with an influential individual from the respective era.

On top you can "relive" iconic moments from Porsche Motorsport history e.g. like waving the checkered flag, while standing on the Le Mans racetrack as the Porsche 917 crosses the finish line to perform the first overall victory at Le Mans in 1970.

Or you can become the co-driver in the 550 Spyder at the Mille Miglia 1954, where Hans Herrmann and Herbert Linge ducked away under a railway barrier at the last moment and thus escaped the approaching train.

Find out how these and other stories are related to Porsche's numerous victories. As a reward, you will get an insight into the future of Porsche Motorsport: the new Porsche Formula E vehicle.

And not to forget: Meet Ferry, the virtual Archivist, keeper of all knowledge from 70 years of Porsche.

Better take the hint and get used to the electrification. And support your favorite(s) SIM developer(s), since this seems to be the future of motorsports. Either both, or virtual only.

With so many cool cars in their history the last thing anyone should want to unlock is the FE car lol

I see no reason to get used to anything when is about racing, if I dislike something I simply dont watch, I dont watch touring cars for example. No reason support a developer that is not doing what I think should be done either.
Anyway... I'm talking about Porsche history since it's the focus of this project. Does anyone really think Formula E when you see Porsche history? No freaking way, this is not even about EV. Just their history, FE isn't and will never be anything classic or epic, heck especially when you have the 919 Evo righ there, that one should be their ultimate car, not a generic near spec F4

It looks like a brief walk through their history, with the goal to get fans into their future endeavors.
You can, of course, keep watching your favorite series on YouTube, while it exists, or tapes on your vc, whatever works for you.
And I didn't mean the developer of this title, but your favorite SIM developer or developers. If you don't have at least one, I don't have a clue what you do around this forum.

My mind jumped to the more famous instance of a passenger in a 550 Spyder nearly dying (Rolf Wütherich with James Dean). I guess that one isn't a part of Porsche history to dwell on though, especially as a VR experience!

I thought Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed/2000 covered Porsche history nicely
I loved that game, but...
It could use an updated version, both because the game is now old as dirt and Porsche has some new cars that deserve mention since then.
Also it fell short when it comes to racing heritage focusing entirely on road cars(it was a NFS game after all).

It's disappointing that it's just a VR museum it seems, if they were cooperating with a sim developer to make a lightweight driving game, where you take these beasts into scenic locations or classic tracks, i would be more interested(and yes i can probably do that myself with AC, but still...).

It was indeed poorly written. I''ll try to clarify my point.
The trend seems to allow only electric motorports in the mid term, and virtual racing is already becoming a reality (yeah, calling it motorsports is a huge stretch).
And even further in the future, maybe only virtual will exist, due to advances in the simulations and the change of culture.

huh?!?!
Care to explain that bit again?
Future of motorsports, or virtual only?

This feels like a nice VR advertisement for porsche.....

If its paid tho, and there is not a single interactive game or racing thing, it might as well be trash for me.

Right on, give us the car chase from the recent advertisement, it even starts at the museum!

Strange they have forgotten the most famous event of the 550 historics.
The incident September 30, 1955 where the actor James Dean was killed in his race prepared 550 on his way to a race on a track at Salinas.

One of the reasons this car is one of the most replicated cars is exactly because of this incident - and because this car was the first factory produced racing car available to the public.
And a great car too:)

EDIT:
Sorry @boomn I didnt recognize you post before posting.:(

Disappointed that there isn't a Porsche 962C, 917/30, or a 935 story in there. Oh well, it's all boring racing history anyways.
