Since I don't know how to update old content to new shaders, I have the choice of about 4 cars to go with.

I don't understand why people have such a problem with the cg shaders, it's simples. For a quick convert you can just make every texture ~vf_standard.

The new shaders are as easy as pie. I mean I learned them, I couldn't understand the old shaders though. (i might now but still not that well)

It's weird though, what works for one car doesn't work for another.

I've managed to get some basic bodies back on some cars, but doing windows properly seems weird, and some textures just don't play ball.

I *hate* glass. IRL it always seems to look different from one time to the next and from one vehicle to the next.. and in Racer all the tracks are different too.

There's definitely more to it than some materials. I'm really happy with the options .cg opens up, but it introduces new content creation problems at the same time, because you need to know how to set everything up right.
