PC for ultra settings on triples

Hi All,

I'm in the process of spec'ing my new PC as my current system is getting old now and was never built to be used with my triple monitors. Also with modern titles now requiring more performance I'm struggling to make some newer titles work as well as I would like. I don't plan on using VR.

I've been looking at systems which I will list below where I am looking at a budget of £1,500 - £1,700. Is this OVERKILL and what would you guys recommend instead

AMD RYZEN 7 1700/Intel i7 7700k
Asus AMD PRIME X370-PRO/Asus Intel PRIME Z270-A LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard
Cooler Masters CPU Cooler
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x 8GB) Memory
Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB Graphics Card
2TB WD Performance HDD
Corsair RM650i RMi Series 650 Watt Fully Modular Power Supply Unit (80 Plus Gold Certified)

Look forward to hearing what you think.

For 5760x1080 multiview (angled monitors) up to 90 Hz refresh, it's not overkill, particularly for track/car combos that are tougher than average as you need "headroom" to run those. It's actually not enough for rF2's DX11 @ 60 Hz refresh without turning down settings unless you go with a 1080TI.

If your monitors are higher resolution than 5760x1080, then go with a 1080TI.

I currently have a standard 1080. I'm really looking forward to the next generation of card that will beat a 1080TI by 20% or more so I can upgrade from triple 27" 1920x1080 monitors to triple 32"+ 2560x1440 monitors and have some headroom.

Hi!

Hmm, well I can certainly recommend the 7700K BUT we are running the 7600K on triple screen 1440p and there's no noticable difference (except the €100 price difference).
Ryzen, no idea.
16GB RAM ok, but what speeds? I'm having trouble reaching true 4000MHz, you can save a little by going for 3800. Again, not a noticable difference to, say, 3200MHz.
GTX 1080, epic, get it.
I see an HDD but no SSD? SSD is CRUCIAL.
Motherboard, no reason really to go ATX anymore. I would recommend ASUS Strix Z270G.
PSU looks fine.

Good luck and have fun :)
