Aston Rapide

They're fast workers at Aston Martin! As this picture proves, the firm’s four-door Rapide is speeding through development.

Our spies caught the saloon as it underwent some winter testing. The virtually undisguised prototype shows how similar the production model, due on sale next year, will look to the original concept version, which made its debut at the 2006 Detroit Motor Show.

The sleek Rapide will face stiff competition from Porsche’s forthcoming Panamera when it hits the road. Based on these pictures, however, the Brit has the edge in terms of design.

It shares the look of the firm’s beautiful DB9 coupé, but its longer wheelbase and swooping roofline make room for a second pair of doors. Still, despite the increase in practicality, the short rear overhang and long nose provide the four-door with an elegant profile.

Sporty styling cues include an upswept C-pillar, integrated rear spoiler and diffuser-style bumper, with neat details such as traditional Aston air vents in the front wings. Power will come from the brand’s 6.0-litre V12, which promises incredible performance. The saloon is likely to sprint from 0-60mph in less than six seconds.

The suspension will be tuned to optimise comfort, but the Rapide’s lightweight construction will also help to give excellent handling.
It will be the firm’s first four-door saloon since 1989, when the Lagonda was axed. That model arrived in 1975, but failed to win over buyers.

It`s some guy that replicated the car from Will Smit in "I Robot"........or does that make it a concept car :confused:

Clio gets Laguna look

French family favourite gets grown-up look for 2009.


Ford's next-generation Fiesta isn’t the only supermini heading for the limelight. As our spies can reveal, Renault also has plans to shake up the sector – with an all-new evolution of the Clio.

Inspired by the latest Laguna, the Clio MkIV is expected to go on sale early in 2009. There will be three and five-door hatchbacks, plus a new estate, and the most obvious changes have been made to the nose. As part of a push to improve its pedestrian safety rating and road presence, it has revised headlights, a fresh grille, larger badge and reshaped bonnet.

At the rear, the alterations are less obvious, but include distinctive lamps and a sharp horizontal crease across the tailgate which helps to improve boot capacity. Changes to the supermini’s profile are less pronounced, mainly because the next Clio shares its chassis with the current machine. That means the wheelbase remains the same, as does the roofline.

Inside, however, a host of enhancements to the layout and equipment have been made. As a result, the Ren-ault will be more of a match for the new Fiesta, which promises to be the best-equipped car in its class.

Clio buyers can expect rain-sensing wipers and keyless entry and start, as well as a new satellite navigation system to replace the basic set-up in the existing model. Although details of the engines remain secret, it’s thought the French firm will carry over the current line-up – so the Clio will get a varied range of petrol and diesel units.

the Zenz Sportcar is the dream of Ralf Zenz. The car is 4,20 meter long and 1,88 meter large. The concept car have place for two peoples an d bagage.

He has a power of 140 pk (dieselmotor) with a topspeed of 230 km/h and he use 2,7 or 2,9 liter per 100 km. He with 760 kilo.

The baby Rolls is taking shape! After being given the green light for production, engineers are hard at work on the new entry-level Rolls-Royce.
Our spy photographers spotted a test mule for the car undergoing cold weather assessments, and were able to bring you the best pictures yet of the hotly anticipated model.

And don’t be fooled by its 7-Series styling – the forthcoming Rolls is set to share underpinnings with the next-generation BMW flagship. However, the production version will be much longer than its German stablemate.
Look closely, and there are plenty of clues that the bodywork is heavily modified. For a start, the tall-riding prototype features extended sills, which emphasise the depth of the sides. Similarly, the big alloys appear lost in the wheelarches as the chassis is raised to suit the Rolls’ running gear.

What this mule doesn’t reveal is the new car’s rear-hinged back doors, which are inspired by those fitted to its big brother, the Phantom. But the bluff front end bears all the hallmarks of the Britsh firm, and the production version will get a dominant chrome grille and retractable Spirit of Ecstacy ornament. Other Rolls-Royce styling cues will include fixed centre caps on the roadgoing model’s 20-inch alloys. These ensure the company logo is always the right way up.

Under the bonnet, power will come from a 6.0-litre V12 engine, which delivers 550bhp to the rear wheels. That should be enough to propel the big saloon from 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds. The newcomer is expected to be priced at around £150,000. This may sound expensive for an entry-level model, but don’t forget that the company’s flagship Phantom weighs in at an incredible £250,000.

Lexus IS-F confirmed for GT300

After serval weeks speculation, the Lexus IS-F concept has been confirmed to race in the Super GT Championship in Japan.
The car will be run in the GT300 class by the team Racing Project Bandoh. The car is no longer named "IS-F Concept" but is now called the Lexus IS350.

The program will have support from Toyota Motorsport. The older Toyota Celica will be run in the two first races before switching to the new IS350 in the third race at Fuji in May.

Japanese Manabu Orido (39) is named as one of two drivers. Orido drove for the team in 1997 when they clinched the GT300 title with a Nissan Silva. The second driver is expected to be announced shortly.

The interest for the new car is reported to be big, with, among others, TEam Takuchi being interested.

If Lexus will make it to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters with this car remains to be seen.
