All a bit sterile and dull for me. I love the challenges of public servers, if people take you out then just do it back!simple

Surely you must realise that it's this kind of behaviour which turns the majority of innocent nudges and scrapes into an all out war... Which in no way could possibly be called 'fun' racing. Personally, the definition of 'sterile and dull' is racing to the first corner and limping the rest of the way (or just leaving and spending the next few hours moving from server to server doing the same thing over and over again). I was quite surprised (and dissapointed) to see a comment like this from a racing club member.

I have never raced in club events and never will.

I am largely here simply for news and help from members etc with issues around the various games I play.

I ahve played in various leagues over the years and found them simply dull and uninspiring.

Yes you get fair racing, but the rules, snappiness of mods etc just leaves me cold!

I prefer the rough and tumble of public servers, more fun and to be honest more interesting. You can still race fair and have some great races, I have!

For example, raced a 10 lap race at I think Silverstone other week, started at the back and worked though to third, in a GT1 car. Didn't nudge anyone, Noone nudged me apart fromt he noobs in P1 cars. Lapped guys moved over, I moved for leaders.

All in a 25 man server with skill levelvs ranging from Alien to noob,.

Yes you might get this once in a blue moon, but the wait is worth it, every time I have tried to race on league servers I get bossed about and treated like an idiot!

Rob... you are so misguided.

RD's club events and leagues have none of that. None. You've been missing out on so much by not taking part. Our racing is fair, but fun too. I find it apalling that you've made conclusions about RD based on your experiences in other leagues when you haven't even tried our racing. That's just silly.
Try a RaceDepartment club race (join TS if you race in the mini or American STCC servers in Evo, it's loads of fun ) and you'll see what I mean. No bossing about, no snappiness, no being treated like an idiot. We're just there to have fun.

It saddens me that you think this kind of stuff about us... it just isn't true.

And in another league place NOONE actually spoke to each other! It was the most depressing thing! They just turned up, raced and went home again, utterly awful.

League races here are only No Talking in Qually/Race (Most important Parts) Practice you would see me chatting out of my butt.

Keep racing publics if you want to - nothing wrong with that - but the worst thing you can do is make conclusions about RD based on other leagues. Generally other rF leagues are way serious, but RD's leagues concentrate on fun and socialisation. As Kevin said, join one race and more will follow. :wink2:

Will try but you guys often run Race 07 events on mod tracks and the install methid is pretty damned tricky to say the least on Vosta.

Will try the odd event opn Rfactor when I have reinstalled the game. Sadly the Endurance 1.1 patch totally destroyed my version of the game, I got mismatches from then on in every server despite removing the patch and the mod!
