Nordschleife times are frustrating me

I've posted about this before at rsc. Here I am again trying to really figure out what it is I am doing wrong. Just some back ground on me. I have raced this track ever since Gran Turismo for playstation 2. I know this track very well. I can run through the whole track in my head, every single turn. I coudl draw it on paper if I had to. So I do not think my issue is "knowing this track".

My best time on this track is 6:45:xx. Doesn't matter if I am in a GT Pro or WTCC Extreme car. That is as good as I can get. I've watched replays, downloaded setups and even got help with setups but just can't get better then 6:45:xx on this track.

After watching replays and following lines from files of people running in the 6:30's I just do not get two things. How are you braking that late and how are you on the gas that early? This is basically the only way people are getting these times any faster then me. I have tried to follow these and there is no way I can do this with out the car getting side ways or losing the line.

I'm just really confused on what I can possibly do to gain a whole 10-15 seconds on this track when I feel I am pushing this car to the limits.

I'm starting to wonder if my wheel settings are off or what. I've tried different settings with my G25. It doesn't really seem to make that big of a difference. Moved wheel rotation from 240 to 540 and now at 400. Lock from 15 all the way up to max. Speed sensitive steering from 50% to 0% to 10%. Doesn't seem to matter. I've used tunes that seem to help out but not enough to get me down under 6:45.

@Ryan Callan

Have you tried taking higs speed corners like the one after first sector, and the one after uphill section ? With my setup i can go fulltrothle trought them . It's all about how you're good with controling the car with low downforce . With time you will be faster , thrust me

@Chad711

:) , after i make that , i'm going to my friend and try to take off some more time on his G25:D

@Bram Hengeveld

What's his time .? Is this him , first on the list? http://www.v-wtcc.com/leaderboard/rankingsfull.php
I allready managed below 6:11 without ABS(PRO) ,but i want to make the 6:08:8xx lap. At least low 6:09:D
With which do i record replay? Fraps or ?

If you say so... I would class 12 and above as high downforce anyway. And I don't drive those cars, I just have massive knowledge of the track from being the best Nurbrugring specialist in the world on Forza :wink:

*blows his own tuba* :D

Things are going bad.
I was going to give you more tricks as turning the car using the gas throttle, use the brake to slide from one corner to the other, leave all pedals alone in some curves, etc.
Now, I can't drop below 7:05 with a M3. Which, if you can do 6:45 with this, makes you faster than I am.
I then tried out with GTPro. I'm 1 or 2 seconds behind (and I'm rushing big time) my 6:36 time in an Extreme (without any difficulties) and always crash before I can lap out. The R8 seemed more stable out of that class...

I dunno. I'm mystified.

Haha what a joke is this :) Don't pay too much attention on this guy Klyde! Haha

Yep,

I agree... comments such as these are not credible and should not be considered valid or truthful… pity that some feel the need to behave this way.

Mafiaman, I downloaded your setup. I must say that is the most UNSTABLE setup ever! But you are right, if you can learn to drive the car under this setup there is better times to be had. I know for a fact if I can keep this car on the track my times will get better. I have never been able to take some of the turns like I was with your setup. It STICKS to the road!!!

I'll come back when I get a full lap in. She's like a fat girl on ice skates but I'm going to get this fat girl around the track! :D

[FONT=&quot]lol, I can't believe this topic went down this way, lets all give a :hug:

To be true, I belong to the (not so silent) "few" who don't care about who goes faster at the Nord with a fantasy virtual car...
Unless I can try a lap with my KA-50 or exhibit my 5:12 lap on a magic carpet, and tell you now, don’t ask me to go show it on the server, because my magic carpet is, well, magic… and you wouldn’t be able to see it :D

Now, a lap below 6:30 on a C5R, or one below 6:50 on a M3, or yet one below 7:10 on a Z4... now you would be starting to impress me (and other snails) around the Nord
