No mention of the driving experience so far

I'm a bit disappointed that most of what I have seen and read is about visuals. I was really hoping to get a sense of how the driving experience feels.

Has anyone seen/heard any feedback regarding that? I'm curious to see how they dealt with wet conditions as this is an area where many sims have had challenges. Also curious to see what enhancements have been made. Guess I'll have to wait a bit for that.

Nicki Thiim ( Aston factory driver ) & Chris Zoechling ( GT Masters M6 driver ) have both streamed first impressions, both talk about handling ( Zoechling drove much longer, mind you ).

Personally I think the FFB setup needs work, I can't get much out of my wheel at the moment, but from what I can feel the car does feel pretty good under that. Tyre temps make a huge difference, need to get them warmed up nicely & then not overdrive - and the dry tyres are fairly unforgiving slicks. Can't feel enough to tell how the aero model is reacting to the car moving around & there's no telemetry yet.

Kerbs are a nightmare - not quite as bad as AC, but far too likely to kick your car into a spin at the moment. Ironically in the wet they're actually no problem when *then* they should be like black ice.

Interesting though - have talked to a few people now who had lukewarm first impressions but can't stop driving, definitely seems to be something you warm up to over time.

See this is a problem with so many sims. People shouldn´t get accustomed to a faulty system it should work almost right from the get go. I once drove a car with 3 wheels. I got accustomed to that after a while but in the end I was driving a car with three wheels.

You do realise that this is Early Access v0.0.1 beta?

Are you a parent? When the baby was born, did you sigh and complain that it couldn't run yet?

I don't think I've ever tried a sim I liked instantly - NR2003 was possibly the nearest but I'd been driving Papyrus stuff for years already. I'm well aware of when I'm not ever going to like something, like PCars/2.

This is more like the car you've just finished putting together in your garage going out for it's first test drive around a car park to make sure it works & so you can get a feeling of having made progress.

Maybe you're still driving the 3 wheeler and it is that which is leading you to believe ACC is "faulty" in some way...

But then I have a hard time understanding how you can form an opinion on this sim when it's a "no buy" for you, unless you've somehow come up with a way of feeling FFB via watching YouTube videos? Gamermuscle isn't the only person playing the game. We have other people here and on YouTube who disagree with his thoughts on the game but yet you will only value his opinion. Why? Is it because he is telling you what you want to believe?

Well, by talking to people who have the game and who I trust in understanding how cars work since they drive on the same racetracks as I do.

Feedback from christopher zoechling(drove lambo earlier this year 24h dubai/bmw gt3/porsche cup and former gt3 blancpain lambo driver)
impressions starts at 22 min - 3hours: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/309482853

-Track elevation is good, details "bits and bumps" are missing compared to iracing
- curbs are off compared to real life, to flat
- handling ok, not blown away
- sound 8/10
- Tire skid sound is way to loud/unrealistic, you dont hear tire sounds insight the car at all (only in road cars)
- graphics: iracing looks more realistic gets colours better, to saturated
- reflection in the window is to much
- "75% bake bias???" changes it to 64% ("feels way better...")
- starts comparing laptimes to real life (1:54) and iracing (1:50 "jesus christ")
- why does every sim drive so difficult, "its not as difficult as sim devs make it out to be"
- "There is no light here in real life, no Assetto Corsa no! Watch the nurburgring 24h race stop adding light when there is no light, if you want to make a sim give us a sim and do your research"
- "2. half of the track, no light good job!"
- points out various FPS issues day/night/ replay mode
- Points out a curb that you can take in real life without spinning, "AC the way you handle curbs is a litte mhh, there is a bump there in real life but not that bad"
- game is 6.5/10 at the moment for him
- he will fire up AC/iracing the next time and compare it
normal rain: starts to run the real life wet lines and runs the dry lines afterwards in comparison
- "no grip why is there no grip" "touching the white line or curb should kill you, nothing happens here"
conclusion: wet line is slower, dry line is a lot faster (3.2 sec faster) "its fun im enjoying myself but its unrealistic"
- FFB feels good, nothing amazing
- AI has a good pace (100/100 skill/aggro), starts a overtaking challenge by starting from behind "oh i like the ai" (ai defending) "oh im really enjoying this btw"
- "This is growing on me, earlier i wanted to quit and now im driving again, it definitely got something im enjoying this"
- Schumacher S has a model error, there is no bump touching the gravel with 2 wheels kills you
final rating 6.5/10, iracing is the benchmark 9/10

Buy the game, try for yourself. If it's **** and laggy and all the other nonsense you've heard then refund it on Steam.

It's fine. In fact it's very good. Lacking some of the finer detail you get in rFactor and AMS but you know where the car is and can feel the weight transfer pretty well.
It's very similar to AC..... obviously. I will no doubt test them back to back but not yet.
