The all new Ford Mustang headlines the 2019 NASCAR Heat 3 season update release.

In advance of a brand new game later in the year, 704Games have continued a the recent tradition of deploying a new season update to their latest NASCAR Heat franchise videogame, releasing the 2019 Season Update to the title and adding the latest drivers, teams and cars of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series - including the new for this season Ford Mustang..!

Set to retail for around $9.99, what makes this pack a little bit special in comparison to previous years is the amount of compatibility with the standard game version of the title. Unlike the 2018 update for Heat Evolution, players who purchase the new season update will be able to take their game online when using the new content, as well as playing the 2019 season in Quick Race, Championship, Split Screen and Career mode... at last!

Like previous Season Updates, players will choose between the 2018 and 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Seasons. In the 2019 Season, NASCAR Heat 3 players can race in the following modes; Quick Race, Championship, Split Screen, Career, and, for the first time in a Season Update, Online.

Online racing in the 2019 Season Update is limited to other players who also own the 2019 Season Update. As a result, 2018 and 2019 cars cannot run on a track at the same time in NASCAR Heat 3 and this is due to licensing rules. In addition, players can still race online in the 2018 portion of the game.

For Career mode in the NASCAR Heat 3 2019 Season Update, players will begin in the Xtreme Dirt Tour, then move on to the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and work their way into the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series. After that, players will head to the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Further, players can also customize the 2019 Ford Mustang in the car customization menu. Finally, 2018 Career progress mode will be kept.

The 2019 Season Update DLC is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC now.

Is there a big difference from 2 to 3? Worth buying?

Unlike Heat 2, you can use money earned during your career to open and fund your own team and build your legacy over the course of a seemingly unending career mode. The game also comes with a fictional dirt late model series called the Dirt Xtreme Tour, that races on several real-life dirt tracks (including two dirt variants of asphalt ovals), and a couple of fictional dirt courses. You start in the Dirt series and work your way up through Trucks, Xfinity, and eventually up to the Monster Energy Cup Series. The physics and handling are still semi-realistic at best, mostly arcade-y at worst, but have been improved over Heat 2's, and Heat Evo's.

I would say it's worth buying, preferably if it's on sale though. It's easily worth a good $30-$40 instead of the previous $15-$20 of the last two games, but still not quite at the full $50 the game started out as when it released last September.
